I've been running for 47 years now. Today I did an easy 10 miles. Breathing I taught myself. Basically timing is important. When running when your dominant foot hits the ground breath in and when it once again hits the ground exhale. Slowly find a rhythm based on your foot fall. This doubles distance. Before sprinting take short, quick breathes and when you feel an energy build up take off. I typically do two ten mile runs back to back with a day off in between. Before my run I do 200 sit ups and 70 pushups. When I get home I do a quick 80 pushups and then cool down. After I cool down I do 300 sit ups and 10 leg lifts. I'm retired so I can work out for two hours a day. When I started running in 1979 it wasn't a well known sport. I don't run to compete except with myself.

Agreed....100%...i was out of breath during my remaining 15k of marathon for an IM,...was wondering why im panting at such easy pace...then i took few conscious deep inhale into my lungs and got back "new life" to run smoother

Wish I had seen your video before my ablation. The chest pain was quite bad for four days and a booming headache from what I don’t know. Day 5 was the turning point. Golfed on Day 6 post op.

Had an ablation at MGH in Boston about 15 years ago. Was actually a fascinating experience, in and out of being awake for about 6 hours. Could see the "xray" screens and all the "tools" inserted through my groin and where they were in my heart. Quite frankly the whole thing was no big deal. It was very painful when they were extracting the catheter. Afterword, the Doctor told me the body stops feeling the affects of the local anesthesia at the entry site and my procedure was a bit on the long side. While very painful, we were only talking about a couple minutes. Spent the night in the hospital to ensure the groin wound was adequately healed. I few palpitations for a couple weeks I later learned were normal healing inside the heart. It is a teaching hospital so had a few tours of several students examining my inner thigh, LOL. Overall, I've had worse colds.

Hi, what is the best age gap to compete in this sport? And for example make the olympics ? What age range of athletes is there?

I’m brand new to running and just started trail running about a month ago. I’m a very avid hiker so it’s a natural progression. I find myself doing very deep breathing and sometimes do that hand movement while running for a deep meditative breath and release. Idk why never do that in any other context but feels good while running. Look at free diving; they go very far on a single breath.

I had my ablation yesterday. My head feels stuffy and yes, I have a baby elephant on my chest. It’s ok if I don’t breathe too deep. Glad your procedure came out well.

Glad it went well and you seemed in fine fettle. Going in for my SVT ablation Apr 24 (2024) in Slovakia. I assume yours was an AF ablation as you referred to your throat - I think the AF version is a tad more complicated than that for SVT.

my neighbour just died from afib - was too stubborn for treatment, i.e. ablation and leaned on other techniques to try to train around it, but would still routinely put himself in the hospital a few times a year after some notorious 60+ mile races... he was just 40. Its not that your heart has only so many beats, but it will remodel and as such both signals and volumes are going to cause issues to the other 3 quadrants that aren't enlarged as the right one.
