U said 7 days healed in a 4 year old? How is that lol

2024 and this video still applies. I just had surgery 6 days ago and was looking for some detailed insight and hope for recovery and what to expect. This video was fantastic! Can't wait to be at 6-9 months later and back to normal! Getting married in a month, which will be 5 weeks after surgery. 😮 I'll be limited.

I've got distal radius fracture with mild displacement does it require surgery? Or any kind of cast will help ?

2 years now after the surgery, if someone has doubts ask me. 40 days without felling my arm and hand after the surgery, not able to move, started slowly. However I was playing with my joints slowly to not be so stiff, nowadays my elbow and shoulder have some stiffness, my elbow 95% of the extension, the muscles on my this arm grow faster idk why, my shoulder joints make a noise depending the way I move and I would say that I have 95% of the range of motion back. I can't fully stretch my elbow because I feel a certain pain in the end of the motion if I force. But I can lift weights normally, do exercises with no problem.

For those who are having a humerus fracture.. don't worry about it all coming to handy

My son fractured his scaphoid on Oct 5 but luck has it healing. Had cast on and now in a brace for 4 weeks.

My 4th and 5th (ring and little) metacarpals were dislocated over the top of the Hamate. Due to my opinion, incompetence and dishonesty in the NHS in the UK, the metacarpals were not repositioned, that was 3 1/2 years ago. This untreated injury causes me pain and lack of function every day and annoyance that how I have been left with the metacarpals protruding up from the back of my hand at the CMC. I wish everyone a better outcome than myself and god bless all proficient and honest Doctors🙂

Best advice ever! Listen to this Doctor , he knows what he is talking about. I had a bad fall while cycling in the mountains , fractured my radial head. It was the worst EVER. I couldn't use my arm , it literally froze. Even holding a pen was sore , couldn't hold my toothbrush , struggled to sleep. I'm a pharmacist ( chemist ) , was booked off from work for 5 weeks. Luckily my orthopedic surgeon also gave the same advice , only wear a sling for couple of days and START MOVING. It's really only the stiffness that hurts. At first I thought there is NO WAY I'm moving this elbow , it felt impossible and it was sore. But if you do your stretches 3/4 times a day aggressively , you wil be amazed. It's only the stiffness that hurts. It's been 3 months later and I have FULL MOTION , flexion and extension , also pronation and supination. My advice to anyone who reads this: - Start movement early , it's okay if it hurts , just push through - Avoid lifting anything heavy , MAX weight cup of coffee - Do your stretches 3-4 times daily. -Avoid smoking and alcohol intake. -Increase your calcium and vitamin intake , get some sun as well for Vitamin D ( Helps Calcium adsorption to promote healthy bones and healing ) -After six weeks the fracture should be healed , but your arm will still be weak so do not stress. -Around 12 weeks your elbow will be 95% healed if you do your stretches and strengthening exercises as prescribed by your physiotherapist or doctor. PUSH through , it sucks I know. If you stay positive and follow your rehab program from the start , you will regain full motion. Early motion is crucial , don't wait to long. Start aggressive. If the surgery is extensive and the elbow is not stable after surgery, they prohibit you from moving it at all while the tendon heals and the prosthesis has time to make the elbow stable. We were told do not move it at all until physical therapy deemed it appropriate

Sir my radial bone head has been broken 4weeks ago i had a plaster in my hand till today, doctor asked me for the surgery but I don't wanna do that because of my financial situation please tell me sir is it possible to make it cure without any surgery.

I had fracture 2 months ago... on waist scaphoid... my bone has been recover in 8 weeks .. previously 1 doctor said.. i need surgery he will put a scroo on it .. but another doctor suggest me to do pop cast .. and now after 2 month . My scaphoid has been healed ... my age 24 .. my hand still on pop cast tomorrow im going to remove it 😊😊 dont lose hope .. all the best

Hello Dr. In hello other people watching this so about 3 months ago I was not agreeing on something about going somewhere because I have been there longer really then what I've really wanted to be the place is a place that is supposed to help people with disabilities get jobs or go to a tread school or something that being said i should of not got upset I hit my hand down on a hard wooden table really hard when my hand was closed in a fist in before that against a kickten cabinet at least 3 times so that happened at least 3 months ago my parents don't really like to take me to the Dr. Or the hospital or anything unless they feel like I need it something checked out anyway at first my Right in that's the hand it is hurt really bad and in the fingers in they were sowllen for a while in they were a bit numb like I might have broken my fingers in maybe even my kockal anyway it was hard to make a fist for a while in hurt really bad anyway it's been at least 3 months but even tho I can make a pretty good fist now it still hurts some when I do it even tho the pain I'd not as bad anymore so that being Said in it even yes does feel like a spiran because I have done that before to do y'all think I should still get my right hand checked out at a urgent care or something or even a othipctec Dr. Maybe get a x ray or 2 so I at least know if it's broken or not and has anyone watching this ever had that problem before it's hard getting a job I feel like these days in I've been looking for a job now for 6 years with a learning disability I actually feel like I may not ever work a job or do some of the things in life I'd love to do in if anyone else feels this way out there what do y'all think I should do in does anyone else have this problem

Thanks. I was cycling as it is how I travel. Was needlessly hit in the rear by a drunk. The arm fractured- Colle fracture. I have a number of injuries. Face impact to the pavement, chest arms and legs. I am missing a fair bit of skin - that is the most painful. At least alive - could have been blinded or a vegetable. Maybe cane for rest of life as knee has a non - operable trauma ( fracture- they just splint it)

I've done surgery last month sept 27 humerus fracture middle third ORIF with radial nerve palsy, Thank God I move my wrist up and down now, but not just like before still no strength but im happy for the improvement. Hoping that after a couple of months I regain my full strength with the help of TENS therapy machine

Left intra-articular fracture with ulna head fractured off as well. I’m in therapy but alignment is out 30° backwards so surgery isn’t off the table. I absolutely notice it and it looks weird but I’m so afraid of coming out of surgery worse than I went in. I don’t know what to do!!

Broke my distal radius and the surgeon installed a volar locking plate and screws. At my 6 week post op, the PA asked if I had reinjured myself and what I did for work. I told him no, and that I was just a student right now. He responds, "I'm sorry but you're going to need another surgery." They missed a scaphoid fracture so I'm being sent back to step 1 of recovery. It's an upsetting set of circumstances to say the least. From my research it seems that these two fractures very rarely happen simultaneously, so I assume they didn't think to look for it. Paired with the fact that it was really hard to see the fracture at first, it makes sense that it was missed. But still, I was upset to hear that they were going to have to cut me open again. And for anyone who is curious, I broke my wrist in a skateboarding accident. My friend and I decided to bomb a massive hill on our boards. Near the end I hit a rock and flew off the board, resulting in a concussion and a broken wrist. Fun times.

After decades of no breaks or fractures, I finally joined the club. within 12 hours I started straightening my arm through the pain. In the first hour I regained most of my motion.

Ty for this video My dad broke has a distal hunerus fracture it been two years the day when broke his humerus he had the surgery but unfortunately the doctor was uncapable and ge didn't stabilise the bones in the right way after 6months we didn't see any improvement so when consult other doctor that figure out the problem. Dad dud other surgery in Wich he did autograf after a Year the bone didn't heal so that but I notice little improvement my dad is 47 and he is diabete 2 , even the period is very long and I'm really worried, his doctor think that normal but i still suspicious because that's what happened with the firt one i am still seaching and i hope god show me something that would calm me

Thank you for explaining this to me. I’m 68 y/o female who was in my sister backyard when I saw 2 dogs cross the street and come in the front yard, then I didn’t see them anymore until I got up to leave, and both dogs was within arms length barking and growling at me. I started backing away from the dogs and after taking a few steps backwards, I fell on the ground. The dogs were still coming towards me, a neighbor ran into his house and came back out with a golf club waving it at the dogs. I tried getting up, but I couldn’t because my right wrist was hurting, eventually I got up, the dogs were still coming after the man with the club and me also. They followed us all the way to his back porch. After a while they left. I immediately noticed my wrist was swollen and hurting. After the neighbor drive me home I put an ice pack on my wrist (7Pm) and went to the ER around 5:45 that Tuesday morning and was told that I had cracked my wrist and that surgery was not needed. Tomorrow is Friday and I have an 8:30 appointment with the orthopedic doctor. ER Dr. put a split from the last two joints of my finger all the way above my elbow. I have been keeping it elevated on pillows in bed and in a sling out of bed. I’m able to wiggle and make a fist and I have been moving my fingers and making a fist often even though it hurts some. I broke radius & scaphoid plus another bone at finger side . Was in cast 8 weeks now have splint thing . Seen physio have exercises to do . I have very little wrist movement plus painful to grip or lift anything. Honestly don’t know if it will heal.

I just had this surgery done three days ago. This has been the most comprehensive informative video I have seen since then.Thank you so much! You answered so many of the questions that I am having! Everything you stated was exactly like my case, even down to my age. My only question is regarding trying to straighten my arm. It has been bent in an L for 2 weeks and when I try to straighten it. It burns, stings and is painful so not sure it I should be doing that or not. Thank you again!
