Can you make a mirror reflection tutorial for events without the need for scripts?

I've tested this out and unfortunately I think it may not be possible without scripts/plugins. The only solution I could find where your "reflection" doesn't go out of sync, is to use a cutscene, and not have it work in real time. You can make an event that's a copy (reflection) of your character, and have an imported image that looks like a see-through mirror. Then, move your reflection under the mirror image the same time your player character moves, with an autorun event.

So far it's been good. I have the overall story complete. It's just filling in what happens between the major events sometimes takes me a while to figure out. For now, I am trying to keep my videos spoiler free from the story part of my game.

@@frozencedar I've been working out my own estimations of the challenge's requirements. With the battle backgrounds, there's like a minimum of 62-ish combinations. But some walls and floors are basically identical, idk if you'd count them as the same. By tinting the screen you can force a few odd ones together.

@@coyotecraft For RPG Maker VX Ace, by default it has 54 battlebacks1 (floor), and 54 battlebacks2 (wall). I am just going to focus on using each asset at least once, even if it's very similar to another asset. Of course I may have to use the same one more than once for story purposes or something, but best case scenario is that I only have 54 total battleback scenes.

this might have already been explained in the video, but is it possible, using region IDs to make fishing spots appear at random on any body of water?

You could add multiple fishing spots anywhere on the map, then when you enter the map have an autorun event with "set event location" to change the fishing spots to random locations at multiple predetermined places (So they don't appear away from shore). Alternatively, you could have a parallel process conditional branch for if you're in a boat or ship, pressing a specific button will bring up the fishing menu, and will let you fish anywhere in the water. Sorry, I can't think of a way to set them by using region IDs however. I hope this helps!

Hi dude! Great video, thanks for the help with the locks, are you thinking about making a "Tutorials serie" for RPG Maker? Would be great to see basics and lesser know gimmics and strats for make unique things... I was actually seeking for a method for implement the counter-attack in battle or even the "cover mode", like if one character could possibly cover the dmg for one other.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. I haven't thought about making a tutorials series, but I think I may make one in the near future. "counter-attack" and "cover" are already in some versions of RPG Maker under Database>States. If your version doesn't have them, create a new State, then on the right hand side in the box labeled "Features", you can add a Param>Ex-Parameter>CNT(Counter) + 100% for a Counter Attack. For a Cover, in the features box, add an Other>special Flag>Substitute. You can change the other settings, like how many turns it lasts, to whatever works best for your game. Then apply the State you made to a skill, weapon, or anything else you'd like. Some older versions of RPG Maker may not have these settings, and you would have to download some add-ons, or add some custom script to get this same effect.

That's nice. Instead why you don't you make a mini game when lockpick. Change player image > transfer player to new map > make player reach a certain points on the map for a limited period of time. If time is over and player didn't reach all points > picklock fail, if it reach all points > picklock success. Change player image > transfer player back to the chest location. Just and idea. NOTE: Player image could be changed to something similia r as picklocks or else and the map could be the chest lock.

Honestly, that's a great idea! Plus, there could be 3+ maps per lock difficulty, so it's not always the same pattern. I made this video for simple ways to make lockpicking work. But, this, or something similar, would definitely be in consideration for making videos about more advanced lockpicking mechanics. Thank you.
