You pass by the Escuela de Bellas Artes, is inportant too. The Parque de las ciencias, el Museo de arte de Bayamón, El paseo Lineal, Universidades, restaurantes, mucho que ver... 😃 Cierto, no quedan carretones de chicharrón.

If you’re talking about the sargaso weed, it’s certainly a problem. However, in the government’s defense, the fact that it’s out of control is due to climate change. By the same token, cleaning up such a monumental mess is a daunting job. It usually cleans up on its own during the summer months.

It used to have all of that, but like everything else related to the University of Puerto Rico the powers at be are trying to bring it to its knees. Maybe they’re thinking of privatizing it.

Yes it is and in many cases the problems are beyond their control. The central government, and even the federal government, have done a piss poor job of redeveloping the entire area.

I live here and can say that it is amazing!! We fish out of Fajardo and love it here. Fishing is good with Wahoo, Mackerel, mahi-mahi and tuna readily available. The water is clear and warm for snorkeling with turtles and tropical fish. Get on a boat here and have some fun!

It's a shame that the government can't take care of some of these places..I was born in Cayey along with my brothers and sisters (5 total) - My father was from Ponce and my mother from Cidra...I visited my uncle in Cayey which wasn't too far from a plaza which at the time was having a festival at the time..Not sure though..My uncle and aunt passed away (mother's side) but my cousin still lives in the same house..I need to find the address..I want to go back before I get any older and take a driving tour of PR..Thank you for the video..

Guayama was a great city in the 50 and 60 the plaza is one of the most beautiful in the island. The church altar was a magnificent piece of religious art, but was dismantled and moved to no body knows where. Please share the history if you know it. The west side of the calle calimano was dressed with colorful cortina’s to protect from the afternoon sun and the comercial stores displayed a neon lights visible to visitors. It resembles an European city at the time. It was a very beautiful place to visit.

Guayama seems like it was once a great town. Sadly, we can only report what we learn on the day of our visit and from the information that we gather prior to our visit. After all, that’s what any regular tourist would do. If our videos are sometimes lacking it’s because the towns aren’t tourist friendly. They love the American dollar but they do very little to make their visit both educational and welcoming.

You know I have to say. You did such a great job with this informative video! I found this because I'm on a journey of honoring my father, may he rest in peace. I'm on a quest to reconnect with Puerto Rico. I've been practicing my Spanish and cooking. My cellphone provider messed up my phone number in transfer. But to make up for it, they gave me a new number with a 787 area code. Now, when I call people, it comes up as Naranjito Puerto Rico. Thank you for your video. I found it very well put together and illustrated. #wepa 🇵🇷 ❤

I remember going to the Munoz Marin's finca many times as a child (1960-64). Dona Ines's daughter lived across the street from us, and Munoz would come by and pick up the grandkids and me. I had so much fun! Very fond memories of that family.

Great video. I was at las Pailas a little over a year ago. I paid for parking but not for admission. Is this new or legal? It seems that the parking spots belong to private properties. Are they charging to use their paths?
@puertoricobygps
@puertoricobygps 3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. The river belongs to the people of Puerto Rico, but the surrounding properties are private. Hence, the owners have the right to charge for going through their terrain. Furthermore, they provide concrete trails (most of the way), ropes and chains to assist you, plus they keep the place clean and safe. Personally, I feel like the dollar per person is reasonable. Be sure to read my disclaimer.

That was an education for me. I did not know. You are so right! vehicular traffic is destroying our beautiful historic town. It really is sad that the government has not "stepped in" excuse the punt, to reduce this destruction. Such is the politics on Caribbean islands. We should be better than that. Thank you for your great videos and insights.

Thank you. San Juan is the oldest city under the U.S. flag and the third oldest in the New World. It was never meant for cars. Most similar cities in Europe have become walking cities. Maybe the problem is that our government officials vacation at Disney World. If they looked towards Europe they’d realize how they’re destroying our most beautiful tourist attraction.
