At the time I thought strummers Mohawk was a very bad look… signalling the end of the band.

Was listening to Melanie at Carnegie Hall the night bird introduced her. She was a must listening to. May the night bird continue to Rest in peace

I was in my early teens when I discovered that soothing voice coming on the air at night. She really helped ease the angst and anxiety of adolescence. Seems like mostly guys responding here, did she appeal to Women also? Or was her fan-based mostly male? RIP Alison, fly free forever, Nightbird.

These two guys were so fake and their ‘ outlaw’ image was well and truly dumped when they signed to CBS records!

WNEW was my Go To FM station. It was a rite of passage from my grammar school AM listening to my high school excursion into a whole new world of music. The Nightbird's voice took me into this world by the hand. I felt I did not have to be "cool" or be part of the In Crowd to enjoy the world she introduced me to. Thank you Alison.

77 years young now and i can remember listening to the nightbird every night. i still have a reel to reel tape of one of her shows where she is reciting one of Omar khayyams poems,"The moving finger writes"! Damn i miss her shows all these years later
