I agree and I had the WR250R, I rode 24,000 miles on the bike, never failed once. The only issue is the lack of power. I now ride a CRF450L, with Vortex ECU

I can run w 450's / 650's on gravel. They r faster on the straights, I am faster in the corners.... better to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. Buy you some power you might get upset when a 250 passes you on the outside of a corner

What happened when you forgot o ring? You took coolant into oil?

No, that was for an oil passage that goes into the oil filter, it surprisingly never leaked

Wicked video man. I’m about to buy a 2008 with 47 000kms on it. Runs great but I’m worried I might need to fix something in the near future. What usually goes on these bikes at that mileage?
@BentleyCoachworks3 ай бұрын
They are pretty bulletproof, ive had the atv version of this engine the ltz400 too and that was insanely reliable. Just make sure valve clearances are good, follow maintanance schedules, frequent oil changes. This one failed because someone worked on it and used different cam caps and didnt torque them down, wouldnt have happened if it was taken care of properly

I have this exact pipe for my WR250X. I also had a GYTR pipe before and this is quite a bit louder. I don’t have a MX 450 to compare it to so Bently Coachworks, is it really that close to sounding like a 450? I might do a sound test and put it on my channel

Its as loud yes, the 450 is a bit deeper though. Still i love the sound of the gpr exhaust!

You’ve probably learned by now that the WR250X fork guards have a different mounting point than the WR250R to accommodate the lower brake line mount. I bought the black ones (only available for WR250X) but decided not to use them and just wrap the white ones. I still have the black ones in the garage somewhere.

Yes i ended up going with black yz450f fork guards because i could order acerbis ones for way cheaper and they bolt right on!

I never did need to since it hasnt moved. I have crashed many times with that light on haha. If you wanted, you could drill holes in the fender that line up with the holes in the light, and use automotive push clips though.

@BentleyCoachworks5 ай бұрын
It looks a bit janky if im honest, if i didnt buy an aftermarket slip on i would have painted the heatshield black and put it back on. It also gets very hot because the cat is in the stock muffler vs aftermarket ones not having a cat

They're a great bike but were just a bit too expensive (originally $10,000 + ORC in Australia) and I heard that they weren't ever a very big seller. I would expect the WR250R to be better than the CRF/KLX 300.

Yes the DRZ400E is street legal here. Plastic tank, no pillion pegs etc. All of the Honda XRs were street legal (250R, 350R, 400R, 650R etc), the KDXs, ITs, PEs, TTs, WRs and the later RMX250s were all street legal too.

How much does parts cost for replacement of bent valve replacement?
@BentleyCoachworks10 ай бұрын
Bent valves mean the head will be damaged too, along with the piston. You will need a new piston, a new head, new valves, valve seals, and anything else that could be damaged. Best to find a parts bike and use that head if its good, and replace the piston with a new one. As long as the rod isnt bent

@BentleyCoachworks Жыл бұрын
Make sure valve timing and valve clearances are spot on, make sure you have a new gasket and check that the carburetor boots are both sealed properly. Make sure the head bolts are all torqued down to the proper spec. It could even be that the other head flowed differently and the carb needs to be rejetted slightly.
