Lots of whining that 23 gauge cordless pin nailers won't drive nails in hardwood. And then I see that the hardwood is 3/4 inch or an inch thick or greater- and I want to say - pin nailers are not designed to drive a pin nail through this thickness of hardwood. Use an 18 gauge nail gun instead and quit your whining. Pin nailers are mainly designed for 1/8, or 1/4 or perhaps 1/2 inch thick trim. Got something thicker? Use your 18 gauge nailer.

Just a tip, but after you shaped that piece you should save it as a template to make future versions using a pattern bit. When you go to make bevel cuts you’re going to end up hogging out a bunch of material and you’ll want to toss a new one in there.

The factory inserts are adjustable and can become zero clearance. Then re-adjusted for bevels. But still a good video.

There oblong shaped hole for the screws (in the original plastic insert) that allow you to loosen the screws, and you can move both sides inward towards the blade, and tighten the screws. This should give you a zero clearance effect.

I have the same issue with the dust cover but the guide works fine you just have to put it in the groove on the router then put the washer on the outside before you tighten the screw.

A little bit of concern. When you were cutting your piece on the table saw. You had your blade up to high. Should only have your teeth showing. It cuts way better and fast. Your fingers and your wrist got so close. This is a cool youtube video. I found on safety tips. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn3ZiaWjgbGpgdU

I like the idea of bracing the bottom of the table. My thoughts were to buy a phenolic or mdf top and the doubling the thickness with an additional 3/4 mdf. To reinforce it further I can use your idea and get some angle iron and further brace it. That should definitely prevent any sagging for decades to come. 😂

But why? I own the same Bosch Professional but then the new 18v but if you look good you see that you don't have to make a zero clearance insert because with this saw you can adjust the original inserts to zero.... 🤔🤔

The dust port is completely useless but I can tell you I’ve made mine almost completely dust free except for a bit of dust left on the table after a cut. You have to set up dust collection right at the blade under the table. There are videos on how to it. It’s been an awesome tool for the price for me and probably the cleanest.

This seems like a better unit than the cheaper models. I’ve got the big Grizzly and this seems like a good compromise between that and the cheap ones for around $150, or so. Those are very flimsy and have, at best a half horse motor, but they really seem more like one third. By the way, the big ones also use a hex key to loosen the belt for vertical or horizontal position. It’s more secure than other methods. Also, the fact that this is a direct drive rather than the thin belts the cheap ones use means less motor losses, contributing to greater power at the use points - another advantage.
