47 years old now and this is probably one of the greatest guitar solos I ever saw. Glad I had a camera that night wish the audio did it justice this was a 8mm camera.

I still come back and listen to this song all the time. It’s one of my favorites. Nobody sings like him. Nobody plays the guitar like him.

i was there.....in fact i was there every Wed for 4 yrs or so....good times..... believe it or not, Andy always held back when performing along WITH other guitarists. Well, not the time he and Vai dueled it out on stage. ..Vai will never make that mistake again...LOL

Check out those "guitars" at the very end. Nothing better than all natural "guitars" from the 80's.

I remember the first time I saw you, at the Rainbow Music Hall. You played this SECOND. We ALL knew at that point, we were bearing witness to someone every bit as incredible as any musician, ever I remember the first time I met you, at Red Rocks. I extended.my hand towards yours and you pulled me in and gave me a Bear Hug, as Tommy Shannon looked on, incredulous. That was always your greeting to me, thru the few short years we knew each other. Like Tommy has said better than I, if only people could have known his heart. He was kind, humble, sweet and funny. And when he went onstage, the Love just poured out of him and thru him. If you were blessed to have seen him play, you know that is what we miss when we miss Stevie. The Love It was all for Love. I'll see you on the Next World And I won't be late. Most of the world misses a great guitarist I miss my friend . Blessings L

14 yrs later and Chris should be more well known. He is to his followers. Plus, he puts everything into his playing. Not to take away from certain others who are great guitarists but they got in the back door by doing poppy radio friendly songs. Still do. Meanwhile, Chris, Mato Nanji from Indigenous, Jonny Lang, KWS and more still not as well known as they should be. Definitely not making the money a certain other guy is. These guys stuck to their true love. It’s about playing the guitar not being a celebrity.

I love what SRV said about drugs, it kinda reminds me of what one of my other musician brother said to me about drugs. He told me SCOTTY STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM DRUGS AND ALCOHOL AND LET THAT GUITAR BE YOUR DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. Guess what? I listened cuz there's not a day that goes by I'm not playing guitar or thinking about playing guitar.

You can see the pain in his face from the dope. So glad he got it together before he was ripped from us.

Last year I was in the hospital for 15 days for heart/kidney failure. The doctor who was taking care of me when I was in there asked me Scotty if your heart stops do you want us to do CPR chest compressions any of that? I said NO DO NOT bring me back cuz I'm going to rock n roll Heaven so I can jam with Eddie Van Halen Stevie Ray Vaughan Jimi Hendrix . DO NOT take that from me. If my heart stops and I come back from it I'm gonna be pissed.
