The original G21 demonstrator was produced with a 3.0 litre V6 and a powerlock rear axle. I was lined up to buy one to replace my G15, but the change in tax laws meant that they stopped advertising the kit version , and it was only available as a complete car. The 1725 engine was an attempt to reduce the cost. Still a lot of car with 120 bhp and a fairly light body. Following the tax change Ginetta had not the scale of cars produced for the G21 as they had for the G15,and this hada major impact on their sales. Shame really it was a really nice car.

My son purchased one of the TR3B you speak of. 530 were produced, his is #477. It has the 3 engine, but the 4 transmission. The last dozen or so had both the 4's engine and transmission. It is in need of a full restoration and has a long way to go. Nice car you have there.

A nice distinction between quick and fast. Going deftly round a B road bend at 59mph is so much better than doing 120mph on a duel carriageway.
