Aged & a-bit spaced out, but still some of the ol’ Lou’s quick witted dry returns; bye God, I miss him & the Velvets, it’s all so contrived these days & totally a avarice-driven Jane Russell

playing in London in April next year. They must be the best band that no one has ever heard of (no one meaning no one that "knows")

Love cale's slight dissonant touch to such a chiseled jewel of a song

Reed and Cale are like Lennon and McCartney. The Velvets are the indie Beatles.

This is how I learned about the Velvet Underground. Lou Reed, you're the man. But his guitar certainly is ridiculous.

The thumbnail for this video showing up on youtube homepage forced the word Addiction onto the second line. As a result I read "Ice-T Learns About Sex".

Is'nt Mo a treasure ? .And how admirable of Lou Reed to recognize her assets from his intuition without any appraisal previously.

A huge Velvet fan here. I know you'll nail me to the first piece of wood at hand, but I just love the Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow live Pale Blue Eyes cover👍

How the hell did they manage to sound like a crappy cover band when playing their own songs? And why did they turn some of their best songs into honky tonk songs? Yikes, how old were they here?

This is shit..He does this with a fuck you attitude that disrespects🎉 the song. I've said this before that his career would have been more or less over by 1971 if it wasn't for David bowie.

I think the lyrics should not be "Waiting for MY man" but instead "THE man" just like the name of the song. John Cale singing it correctly (IMO) is so cool and certainly my favorite version of "Waiting For The Man".

In the 70s, Lou Reed described the West Coast music scene as amateurs (Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, The Holding Company, etc.).
