I learned to weld more wire every time I run out. That's how they taught me.

All the stupid rules made because of stupid folks! They’re gorgeous! My husband is a flintknapper and was once warned about possible toxicity of a rock variety he was working with. He assured the lady he wouldn’t allow anyone to eat it…🙄

Can add spliced wire? Or do you have to get all length up front? For example if the wire breaks.
@JewelrymakingwithKatie3 ай бұрын
You can add in wire! There is a link to the video where i show how to add wire in this videos description. :) Or go to my channel and there is a viking weave playlist with a few videos about viking weave

Great video. Much more info on lengths of wire needed for a given size result. Very clear and concise. I would like to see more, done on a smaller dowel.Thanks.

So beautiful! What are the cabs with the butterflies and flowers painted on them? How did you make those?

Thank you! It is glass enamel fused to copper, each tiny picture is painted with finely ground glass paint and torch fired to create a glass painting then set in sterling silver

I have a small map gas torch that I've used to play around with making copper rings, I really don't use it often but still.. Somehow, months later it's still going... The mysteries of gas

There's also liquid enamel, isn't there? I feel like I've seen someone paint jewelry with liquid enamel and then use an attachment on a drill to spin off excess enamel before firing in a kiln or is she using something like enamel?
@JewelrymakingwithKatie6 ай бұрын
There are many types of enamel which unfortunately makes things confusing! Im using glass enamel that is torch fired but i could also kiln fire it. Glass enamel also comes in liquid form that is then fired. And there are also paint enamels that are not glass and resin enamels as well!

Not too long, i put it in the fridge to harden faster, id say less than 30 min.
