They can be. The conservation status reflects the wild population not the ones kept in captivity. However, please do check the laws of your location regarding this.

I worked in various pet stores in the lower mainland of British Columbia, Canada over a span of 10 years. I fell in love with the half moon Conures and had no idea of their status. Thought of buying a pair to attempt breeding them. I guess I should have done it. Also had a hawk headed Amazon that got eaten by a Python. I wanted to cut the head off the snake to get the bird out. Noting the rarity of them now, if i only knew it then, I would have cut the snakes head off. Regrets that I still carry.

The endangered birds on this list are referencing the wild, not their captive populations. So even if you did breed them in captivity, it wouldn't have helped the wild population.

For starters, by not destroying their habitat and poaching from the wild. Captive breeding of endangered species and rehabilitating them in protected sanctuaries will help in repopulating

The bald spot is present in most lutino cockatiels due to generations of inbreeding. It was found in a study that not all lutino cockatiels having bald spots will suffer from genetic defects but all lutinos suffering from genetic defects were bald. Even I have a lot of lutinos which are bald yet very healthy! Video was made to spread awareness on the topic :)

I have my friend for almost 2 years. He have bald spot on head and i never know why or how he got that. I love him so much and he seems like pretty tough bird (maybe i used wrong word) but he's so strong he escaped outside for one whole day and night we found him and he's acting normal je wasn't injured. I love him so much and for me that bald spot is beautiful

That's great news! This video was an attempt to raise awareness regarding the issue. Cockatiels can have bald spots and still live a completely healthy life! It's similar to Huskies having multi-coloured eyes, although it's a defect still they're beautiful :)

Sir, pls consult a vet. This happens when the bird is in a stressed environment with little to no recreation. Additionally, provide a balanced diet that includes pellets, vegetables and fruits(Lot of videos out there). Also, providing with a variety of toys can be helpful

I recently have a 2 month old baby Lutino, even tho he seem to have some problems like not being able to fly up from the ground and lack of coordinated landing. I still love the little guy, even tho im scared he might have something.

Cockatiels usually take 45-60 days to wean. Try giving it softfood like sprouts and veggies along with seedmix.

Hahaha, Though would not advise that. Yes, Corellas are stunning. Always go for a captive bred bird, since it will be socialised and would be comfortable with human presence. I'm sure there are a ton of ethical breeders in Australia. Can also check out Birds Rescue and Rehabilitation centres, if they have Corellas
