As much as I love Lin Manuel Miranda, Anthony Ramos was so much better as Usnavi.

I think this is one of her best performances of this song. I always come to this Bryant Part clip to listen to PYF. I saw her in 2008 on Broadway. What a show!!!

I came here because of the oliver awards, and honestly, as much as i love the medley of i miss the mountains/superboy and the invisible girl/i’m alive, this should’ve been the performance

Just watched the London Donmar version. What different interpretations of the same song. I have to admit that Alice Ripley comes across as far more unstable here. But, I don't know if that's a good thing. And, her ever-present vibrato feels doesn't do it for me. Perhaps it's just what was popular a decade and a half ago? Anyway, talented lady. But, not a patch on the London version, imo. What else has Ripley been in? And, was it good?

14 years after seeing this video on KZbin and becoming enthralled by this musical I finally got to see it live in London. This is by far one of my absolute best shows ever. Alice is phenomenal in this and the wonderful Cassie Levy did her justice!

I return to this each year with newfound joy, nostalgia, respect, and admiration. Now that Hamilton has faded from the white-hot spotlight and In the Heights had its successful movie, it’s ever more remarkable to go back and see this moment in time. A crushing wave of energy pours through my chest - can you imagine being in that room? And if ever there was a doubt that your show didn’t win in an awards ceremony, watching this performance would be like, “Yeah, okay. You win diddy win zin win!”

Anyone else spotting similarities to Hamilton? Not just with the actors and the orphans themes, but in some of the singing motifs and music blends as well - especially that last bit, it reminded me kinda of ...I wanna say the start of Right Hand Man. Yeah, take the tune of the bit where everyone's singing the same lines at the end and the lights are blue but switch out the lyrics for the bit in Hamilton when they're like "when they surround our troupes".

@jyeb001
@jyeb001 Жыл бұрын
It's common when the playback is different to what the performer is hearing in their earpiece. Also, you didn't need to add "alleged groomer" - it didn't really have anything to do with the performance or context.

This is so well acted and sung. As a person who has experienced mental health issues caused by trauma this really made me cry. The total misunderstanding of each person’s view of the world is heart breaking because both are good and doing just the best the can but it is not enough
