Definitely will be taking a car out for a drive first, I have driven Luton’s before so size isnt a problem, just to make sure the engine is okay ,,,,,and it’s hasn’t had any hard knocks, had a chap tried to sell me a car back in 2016, the car was only a year old…..but I had to fight with the steering, so I knew it had had a bad chassis, he was a dealer, so I said wanted to take for a drive over to the other side of the island, and took it to my friends husband who was mechanic, and yeah, the chassis has bent. Long time no see, thanks for the upload . I had a T Line 590 (21 plate) from new, just sold it this year for a 7 M Adria such as we love the lifestyle. I had a loose washroom door handle, pump locker door edging came away and dropdown bed chain which was fixed under warranty however , it failed again so I upgraded it to removing chain guide as Rollerteam have on the newer models. In general I would still recommend this model as they have stood the test of time. I’ve seen on KZbin other people experience up to 40 faults with their van in the first 12 months! Looking forward to your next VID 👍

The madness of VW stealers clearly just looking for more money - we have a 2012 T5.1 2.0TDI Caravelle so effectively the same base engine configuration and the service schedule states 210,000kms (130,200 miles) with no age stipulation whatsoever. As it happens, I’m currently changing it myself (so that’s 12 years and in our case c. 115,000 miles), and apart from some evidence of stretching (the tensioner no longer points to the cutout where they are initially set), and a small amount of dust, the belt still appears to be in excellent condition. And the water pump is also perfect, although this will be replaced whilst the belt is off. If I was being super-cautious (and I generally am), I would suggest an 8 year interval, but even then I would consider it a bit excessive and there’s really nothing significantly different on the T6 that would support reducing the interval to the dealer recommendation. The auxiliary belt at 4 years, sure, but not the cambelt.

@@iandonkin6762 the joy of ‘VW Stealers’ I like that one. It is a basic logic of the fear factor isn’t it. The only thing I would say is that you would expect a works vehicle to live a much harder life. Most campers are going to be well cared for and maintained accordingly.

@@LiveforTravel certainly. However, from experience I found that the Milenco is essentially a cosmetic add-on, and ineffective at preventing damage from significant impacts. I lost an entire Transit mirror with a Milenco ‘protector’, whereas the Mirror Guard on a Ducato withstood a severe impact from a courier van, with only scratches to show for it. At the end of the day, it boils down to how much you’re prepared to pay I guess.
