I'm not understood, You connect a positive line in side pin, and negative line in middle pin on potentiometer. How it control the voltage.
@Skill_DIY4 ай бұрын
The way the potentiometer works is that if you connect the middle pin to one place and the side pin to another place and turn the volume, you can change the resistance. And that I only connected the negative line to the middle pin and the side pin of the potentiometer is connected to the MOSFET

This motor draws a lot of current and you need to use a large heatsink and a fan to cool the MOSFET because if the MOSFET gets too hot it will burn. Also, this circuit should not be used for a long time for this motor.

last thing is best described as a conectivity detector rather than a metal detector because it is the completion of the circuit which trigures the small speaker so if you were unsure if you had a broken wire it would be a good way to check other than that I do not see much use in all this

Dear friend, for the 12V input, you can put two 5kOhm resistors in series instead of a 10kOhm resistor.

Why do you need that triac tho? Why not directly run it with potentiometer?
@Skill_DIY10 ай бұрын
Directly placing a potentiometer in line with the motor can result in its burning due to the passage of high current through it. Potentiometers have a specific power rating and cannot withstand the motor current, thus excessive current flow causes overheating and burning. Therefore, we use "power MOSFETs" or "power transistors" capable of handling high currents. The w13009 is a type of power transistor that can be used for this purpose.

For 50 degrees centigrade what is the value of the resistor if the potentiometer is replaced...

Unfortunately, I don't have the ready circuit now. You can set the potentiometer for 50 degrees, then disconnect it and measure its value, then replace it with a resistor of about the same value.

Please explain a little more and tell why hysteresis feedback should be added? 🤏❤️🌺
@ottonormalverbrauch3794 Жыл бұрын
@Skill_DIY Hi, it would switch on the fan at a certain temperature and switch it off as soon as the temperature drops a certain amount of degrees ( also adjustable if needed). This will ensure a more 'relaxed' regime of switching on and off instead of responding to any tiny difference in temperature.
@depressed_neutron Жыл бұрын
@@ottonormalverbrauch3794 hi is there any circuit which like you know combines this idea along with a condition to be satisfied I'm guessing simple logic gates with transistors can help
@ottonormalverbrauch3794 Жыл бұрын
@dundermiflinaerospace7557 Hello, if you use an opamp with the temp sensor in a resistor grid on the non inverting input resulting in a higher voltage with higer temperatures and a variable voltage with a divider of a resistor to + and potentiometer P1 to - on the inverting input you can switch a transistor on and off with the output of the opamp. If you now feed the opamp output via a variable resistor P2 to the non inverting input you can use P1 to adjust the temp where the fan gets switched on and P2 to create a temperature drop before it will switch off again. Experiment with resistor values to get the desired effect.
