@NotSoGrandGarage if I did, I would run diesel then through auxiliary tank, switch to Black diesel. Typical stuff. I hear the 802a are a bit touchy concerning loads, though
@NotSoGrandGarage2 күн бұрын
@@SamSung-jn5fi I'd say all of the mechanical diesel generators are touchy with load. Reason being, the engines are sized for the maximum power output of the generator so when they are ran at 25% or 50% load for extended periods, they aren't working hard enough to burn the fuel clean. That's when things tend to start going sideways.

Hey guys just a friendly reminder: torque specs for bearing nut requires tightening to 80Nm, releasing, retighten to 10Nm. Quite different than simply tightening a little by hand once as guarantees priper seating of bearings. Quoting manua: [Adjustment] (1) After removing wheel bearing lock nut and lock washer, tighten bearing nut @ to the torque of 80 N-m (8.0 kg-m, 57.5 lb-ft) while spinning hub by hand. Next, loosen the nut until the torque becomes 0 N.m (0 kg-m, 0 lb-ft) and then tighten it again to tightening torque specified below. In this way, an appropriate bearing preload is obtained.

was there any other symptoms with the engine when the lift pump was going bad?/ my 7.3 is suddenly idling up fast once in a while??
@NotSoGrandGarage12 күн бұрын
If you are getting a sudden surge, you've got air intrusion. Air hits the injection pump and it causes timing to spike which gives the RPM surge. Pretty common issue

The 0 series generators do not have mufflers on them, they made some with acoustic covers but they are less common, I have some 800 series units and they are reasonably quiet. You might benefit from a couple of AP exhaust “Turbo Pack” mufflers, they’re cheap and surprisingly quiet. Or you could use any turbo style muffler. I’d recommend putting a rain cap on wherever you run the exhaust, because I’ve seen critters, both mud wasps and rats, build homes in exhaust pipes and cause problems at the most inconvenient times.
