does the bed tank feed into the rear tank? fphe works well right at the fuel pickup. no loss of heat as it travels to the engine. can probably route the fphe return through the filter head to avoid extra lines. Fphe paid for itself in a few weeks for me by running w100.

It's disconnected completely at the moment. Will be removing it because it leaks. I plan to make a single coolant loop and mount the FPHE by the rear tank.

Do you run the same 1/2 ID from the ball value to the engine? I have a 96 7.3, and I'm trying to do the same conversion. Do you have a video showing that routing? Love your content and thanks for the information.

I do not. The input of the stock mechanical pump cant be changed and is only 3/8". It's 1/2 to the valves then 3/8 for 3' to the pump.

when you switch back to diesel..... do you delay when you switch back the return? as in do you get a small amount of diesel back into wmo tank on each switch back?

I switch the supply first... Then a mile or so later, switch the return. This lady mits cross contamination.

What would be the biggest batch of oil you think is safe to run at a time with out a centrifuge getting to dirty

That REALLY depends on the oil. I've had a 50 gallon batch fill the bowl to the brim with pudding (had a lot of moisture in it). I've had others barely leave anything on the walls of the bowl at all.

@NotSoGrandGarage I prefilled my oil down to 5 microns when I pick it up still saving up for a centrifuge oncei get my truck fixed

No more rug ? Are you planning on running with it until you use your supply of stale rug ?

No more stale RUG. I want to push the envelope a bit. I've never ran straight oil but have talked to quite a few people doing it... so we're gonna try.

In the UK people run red diesel through cat litter tp get the dye out have you tried with wmo ?

I've thought about trying it to see if it would remove any of the carbon from the oil. I'll probably try it here soon

I'm assuming you are 8:46 running an IDI six 6.9 or 7.3 diesel, correct? Or is it a powerstroke? Any issues with running that much gasoline? I cracked a piston in a small toyota running a tiny portion of gasoline and was wondering if that was why.

7.3 idi and no issues. I've ran up to 30% gasoline over the years... IDIs... Cummins... DTs... OM617s.. OM616s... No issues with the gasoline content.

What is the best oil to use like all 15w40 or is it ok to use a mix like 5w30 and 15w40 and all other motor oil

Pretty well any petroleum based oil works... atf to 20w50.... I use it all. With that said, thinner oils are easier to work with as they require less thinner. Gas engine oils tend to be cleaner as well (not much soot).

Where about's are you planning on installing the fphe? Will in tank heater be better then one installed right before oil gets injected into engine? Tia

i use my fphe at the fuel pickup. helps the oil flow through my stock size lines and the bosch pumps (i runa dual) dont seem to mind the heat.

I'll be installing it as close to the rear tank as I can and looping in the heated filter head as well. I could put a smaller one in the engine bay but I don't think it's needed. We'll see.

Chris, You mentioned a heated filter and running straight wmo.... I knew that wvo did that but was not aware it was possible on wmo.... I have 2 IDI's and an 84 300sd, could I possibly do the same? Would it lead to increased maintenance issues? I have the same 6000rpm setup you have....

So the gasoline in the mix is only to thin the oil enough for the pump to move it. If you use heat, you can do the same thing. I know of several people heating straight oil instead of using thinners and it seems to work well for them.
