Really the only similarity between ETH and Amorim is that they were from smaller leagues. The Portuguese league is small but much more competitive than the Eredivise and Sporting have a significantly smaller budget than Benfica/Porto. Ajax’s wage bill is more than double the next closest club. ETH is older than pep and had been in coaching for over 15 years. Amorim is still in his 30s. On top of that, ETH and Amorim manage in very different ways. Hopeful thinking but it feels different than ETH.
