I love this one, I can't help but thinking about long summer afternoons spent between Augustus and Octavia as they talked about family matters, shared grief, and laughed at those particularly cheesy lifelong inside jokes that only siblings can have.

Commenting to say that although this isnt directly inspired by the Trojan war i listened to this on repeat whilst reading 'The silence of the girls' by Pat Barker earlier this year and it made for such an amazing reading experience! I'm listening to this one again as i read Stephen Fry's Troy, and would love if you made a video of the Greek camps outside Troy, or within the walls of Troy. :)

I think I commented on your vids from my other youtube acc before but ive been a huge fan of your work for ages and have shared loads w my friends and family, just wanted to say keep it up and i appreciate the work!! I wrote a dissertation on ancient greece entirely whilst listening to one of your audios, and I absolutely love putting them on when i read! I just read Circe by Madeline Miller whilst listening to this one, and the last like 4 books ive read ive picked a different audio of yours to match! Starting a new book today and gonna have to pick a new vid to listen to 😂

Fun fact, apart from editing and listening to these when I work on them, I never listen to my own ambience since I keep hearing things I could improve on lol I guess that's part of the creation process. YAY! More ancient roman stuff, which I've always liked because they're so good. Also, isn't SPQR the mark of the spanish legion or something? Maximus was branded with it in gladiator, so thats how I know that.

Thanks so much! SPQR is a Latin abbreviation first used during the Roman Republic and became synonymous with the Roman state. It translates to "The Senate and the People of Rome". (Senatus Populusque Romanus) Maximus was branded with it to symbolize that by becoming a gladiator he was essentially property of Rome.
