I had the SSEi, HUD (nice), Air ride & more to go wrong though... keep an eye on the rockers, they were rust prone. Honeycomb wheels?? Don't recall them on the Bonneville, you probably mean the lace.

We purchase new in 1979. It virtually looks like yours. I had a great deal of issues but the lean burn system. The car was very luxurious and very stately for the times. We kept the car for only a year and traded it in.

It's literally based on the 75-79 Chrysler Cordoba coupe. They stretched the wheelbase from 115 to 118 inches, squared off the body and put in a new interior.

Really great looking car. I always liked the R body platform despite Chrysler’s quality control during the late 70s. The New Yorker was my favorite but the Magnum was very nice as well. I know it’s been 5 months or so since this video came out but I’ve got to ask: Is this New Yorker still for sale?

To me that doesn't look like a New Yorker that I remember because growing up as a kid in the late 70s 80s My mom had a black 76 New Yorker Brougham black my dad had a 78 New Yorker Brougham whitesh gray with a red Pinstripe. Big land yachts. The one your selling kinda looks like a Caprice or something lol but I know it's a New Yorker lol

Sweet little Buick. It's crazy to think about how long they kept this A platform. By the mid-90s, these things were really really dated looking inside and out, but they were simple, reliable vehicles that were fairly efficient, had enough room to bring the family along without being too big. I still see a lot of these and their cousins running around, cementing itself as a positive in a sea of negatives for GM in the 80s. The 3300s were the best engines to come in these in my opinion. Since it was based on the 3800, it also had the reliability and efficiency that made the 3800 famous. These 3.1s were solid, but way more unrefined and a little less reliable than the 3300.

Agreed, amazing how such dated technology was still able to feel somewhat modern. Simple, comfortable and dependable. I had an 89 olds with the 3300. Only reason I sold it is because of the rust. I still see it driving around though

Very nice for a 29 year old car. This brings me back some nostalgia. As a 6 year old boy in 1999, my friend's dad had a '95 Century. However, it was more like a navy blue color with a blue interior. He offered to drive me and my brother to school along with his daughter whenever there were days where my parents had to go to work early in the morning.

The car here was the base model with no cruise control. The sound system also had no cd player. At a time when most people were no longer buying cassete tapes, and were buying cd's. If you wanted a cd player that was offered on the LS model. The LS model also had cruise control. The 2.4 litre also had intake gasket problems, and was derived from the Oldsmobile quad 4 engine. What I did not like about the base model was having to use a portible aftermarket cd player with a cassette that went into the cassete player in order to play a cd. You had to keep your foot on the gas petal at all times when driving on the highway on a vacation drive because there was no cruise control. These were the reasons why I sold mine, and bought the top of the line Impala LS with a 3.8 V-6. The malibu name also was used from 1964 through 1983, and was not discontinued in 1981. There are also a few Malibu cars out that were 1984 models. In 1997 Chevrolet revived the name. It never should have been discontinued. Our family owned several Malibu cars. The best one of all of them was a 1980 which we still see on the road today.
