wondering if it might be simpler to double the lengths of the notes and set it to qtr note = 120? my natural inclination is to conduct this at twice the speed, as i feel the downbeat falls on both 1 and 3. i get that you're going for dissonant here, and i find the soprano/alto around 0:50 and 1:09 to be quite tasteful!! (the tritone interval sounds unnerving in a really good way) but i also find the execution of the bass lines to fall flat. personally i could maybe be persuaded by this piece more if it were played on a piano. i also think a few expression markings could go a long way in this case. additionally, use of longer notes or more rhythmic variation especially around 0:30 would help create a more cohesive sound. i don't know, maybe you're not looking cohesive. maybe you're trying to break convention for the sake of breaking convention, in which case: own it. when people are saying things about you not having a sense of harmony, tell them that's the point. just my take though

@@cnj122000 dude, this is what i seek for when i post my works. just a few of really constructive thoughts makes me feel happy im doing this! thank you for this ❤️ p. s. yes, i was going to complete dissonant sound, but also i experimented with the form itself, writing smth like that for the first time

people with no sense of harmony should generally not be given composing equipment
@LukeofSmeg14 күн бұрын
The concept of harmony is in itself a lie as it's subjective term, to teach it as theory is objectively wrong. That being said, this song just sounds crap in my opinion, but each to their own.
@onethegogd578314 күн бұрын
@@LukeofSmegthere are general statements of harmony, you're acting foolishly because everyone knows that a fifth sounds more consonant then minor seventh , and so on

Some people simply cannot interpret more complex music because their ears are not trained enough for it. A lot of modern music is like this, and many people enjoy it, especially those whose senses are attuned to it. Your comment is incredibly malicious and narrow-minded
@Meh281714 күн бұрын
Sounds very chromatic, the main theme sounds promising but gets overwhelmed by the chromatic figure in the counterpoint (opposite voice). You could use the dissonance created by the semitone steps to make a harmonious section with mostly consonance. For example take a shorter simplified version of your main theme and let it be played by all 3 voice layered over each other. That way it wont sound just dissonant all the time and therefore the same all the time. It would be like a enlighted section in a stream of overflowing concious thoughts :D

i love the textures I'd personally experiment more with it tho, for example in the first few bars, the notes in treble staff could be 8th notes and the ones in bass staff could be staccato so it doesnt sound muddled and also foreshadows the ending with the clarinet etcetc
