So you bought 3 individual 6 gauge wires? Doing this project this weekend. Thanks in advance
@mainelyhobbies3 күн бұрын
I ordered 3 8ga thhn wires. They accidently shipped me 1 6ga and 2 8ga. No problem going to a thicker wire so it didn't matter here. If you want more than 32amps of charging, go for 6ga but you'll need larger conduit then.

why on youtube all the other gopro HDR HLG have deep blacks and shadows? And yours not
@mainelyhobbies14 күн бұрын
When I look back at the original files straight off the GoPro I see that blotchiness in the blacks as well. I looked back after exporting because I noticed those.. I figured it wasn't on my end since it's in the original files.. I have the winter to figure out how to color grade now that fishing season is over... maybe it is something I can fix in post. The look matches very close to real life so "deeper blacks" might not be what was there to capture.

I have the 48 port 750 watt version of this switch. My only question to you is would you have gone with A4x20 and would you have done both sides not just one? 4 fans in total
@mainelyhobbies16 күн бұрын
I would go with the a4x20 had I known it existed but its working fine as is with the a4x10. For your switch, I would confirm fan size and go for 4 of the a4x20s. Mine is just a 250watt 24 port switch.

For what I see, the rack is compelsely closed and that keeps all the hot air inside it... making the switch overheat. Maybe a larger, open rack would be another solution, to avoid the purchase of new fans.
@mainelyhobbies17 күн бұрын
There is a gap for airflow of about half an inch on each side. In my setup, nothing is overheating, but you are right, this rack is not ideal for certain networking equipment

13:20 If the drives are 10TB and above, it will be impossible. I've tried everything!! When I unplug the fans on it, I knew its not gonna be solvable. The spinning drives gives out a high pitch sound that makes it crazy annoying. My final solution was to get a super long ethernet and chuck it in my closet, best decision ever.
@mainelyhobbies18 күн бұрын
After this video I ended up powering it down and popping out each hard drive and reseating them into the enclosure bays. So far the vibration has gone away. I'm using 14 terabyte used server drives. My noise was definitely vibration not high pitch spending noise. And it was only one drive of the four in there doing it
@jackipiegg18 күн бұрын
@@mainelyhobbies perhaps you're not using enterprise drives. Its too noisy for my taste. Definitely NOT vibration from the case as I've tested it bare with wires hanging out.

How to set QR code to infinite repeat ? hi, i'm using the gopro as a camera trap to record a few cryptic animals in my region. I'm using the QR Control App to set the motion parameters. When i slide the repeat function on, the Motion Detection only repeats once. Is there a way to set the camera to repeat the motion detection function infinitely? thx, Jano
@mainelyhobbies23 күн бұрын
I dont use that function. Post this question on the forum for gopro labs. There are some people who work for gopro on there that are very active answering questions and very willing to help test and identify bugs and get it fixed in the next update.

Thanks for the video on these VR Wave lenses. I will keep this company in mind for getting lenses possibly in the future. It is now Oct 2024. I am going through Cataract surgeries for both eyes soon so I know I will be needing some kind of glasses. So not sure how clear my viewing will be without glasses. Right now before any surgeries I can use the Quest 3 without any glasses or added lenses. Time shall Tell how this goes. I know there are other lens manufacturers.

Is the time drift on both cameras close? If you do longer 30 min vids will either camera start to drift more than the other?
@mainelyhobbies2 ай бұрын
There is no drift while recording. That would only happen if a camera started dropping frames. The drift comes when the cameras are idling, so it's good to resync with the time qr code just before recording.
@petersvideofile2 ай бұрын
Great! I was afraid that since the main clock oscillator wasn't temperature controlled it would have a high ppm drift. People attempting the same with gopro 10 and also go pro 11s were getting around 5-6 frames drift every 40 mins or so... The hero12 though seemed to hold sync better. I wonder if they put a tcox in it for lower ppm. The go pros have rolling shutter, so any fast moving stuff will probably have desynced rolling shutter artifacts but you can probably compensate by just using shorter shutter time or something... Thanks for sharing your work!

Something definitely changed with the hero12 making it much more accurate.
