"Video nasty" such a dystopian, Orwellian term to call any movie you find shocking or distasteful. On par with any term used in 1984.

Just like how the prequels redeemed Return of the Jedi for Rich, the sequels redeemed the prequels for many others. It’s like poetry.

James Kahn's novelization of this movie is pretty wild, for those who haven't read it. Obi-Wan claims Owen was _his_ brother when he talks with Luke. And Wicket makes an impassioned speech when Threepio is done telling the story of the Rebellion, all about how they have to help because the Empire is destroying the natural beauty of their planet and blah blah blah. In the movie they just say sure, why not, we're Rebels now. I get the feeling that maybe the book was based on an earlier version of the script, like so many movie tie-ins are. But as wild as that one is, it's not a tenth as wild as _Tales from Jabba's Palace,_ Kevin J. Anderson, ed. Everybody in that joint wants to assassinate Jabba, there's a whole murder mystery thing going on, Ree-Yees is a worthless drunk, EV-9D9 is a sadomasochist, Gartogg is dumber than dirt, the Weequays consult with a Magic 8-Ball, some denizens get their brains removed....just a whole bunch of madness. It's my favorite EU book of all time.

One of the best campaign starts was when we were playtesting a Call of Cthulhu campaign that the GM wanted to sell, so he had put a lot of effort in it. He took us to a train station after very nicely written intro. he gave us a choice, go to north towards rainy and gloomy weather, in the countryside with moors and.. just not a place to have fun. Or south. We went south and he proceeded by dropping his whole material to trash, a thick stack of paper... he forgot that players are chaotic and that was the stupidest fork in the road, promise of small payment for lots of hardship OR.. go enjoy yourself. We then played the first campaign in the basic set in about one night, killing all of our characters of course in the process. He did fix the campaign later, don't remember if he got it published thou, probably not. Our DnD DM did things differently, once he wanted us to go to a dark tunnel, we turned away and then saw dozen dragons surrounding us, all pointing their fingers towards the cave....

Best fumble: guy was hiding in dark tunnel, in a crevice. So he had initiative for sure, all he had to do is to wait until the two guards have gone past and backstab them. He decides to jump out from the shadows just as the guards are near, yells "ahaa!" and proceed to stabs one of our party member in the head and slice his own throat open with one, very gracious and fluid move. The scene is hilarious when you look at it from the guards point of view, someone jumps in front of them, yells "ahaa" and kills himself, and then another corpse falls from the shadows..It is like an actual Suicide Squad...

All that recent "Bill Finger got ripped off by Bob Kane" stuff is complete nonsense. Finger was a writer only, while Kane did Batman art (and plotting) for years. Finger was a writer only, while Kane did Batman art (and plotting) for years. The oft-mentioned checklist of Batman character suggestions is only that - suggestions that would not have survived to the present day - had they not first been approved by Kane himself. During the 1950s and '60s, Finger wrote for other characters, both at DC and other comic companies, including the Batman TV series. But Finger also had a bad heart, suffering three attacks starting in the early 1960s. Then he passed in the '70s. Clearly he made decent money after his time with Kane, and spent it, none of which was Kane's fault.
