16 ohm output? How much modding?
@KyleReidMusic26 күн бұрын
Switchable between 8 and 16 ohm. New filter caps and coupling caps, tweed Princeton style tone circuit, and fender style “low & high” level inputs. It’s on my Reverb shop right now.
@@KyleReidMusic Cheers man-very tweedy with a hint of its own thing. Just received mine and will start it in the summer. Big differences with the 385?

Amazing. I've got three old reel-to-reels and thought they might make a guitar amp but never dreamed they could be this. Is there a seperate amp for the reverb spring?

Thank you for this video. I've had many of these. Model. J and K are very prehistoric compared to model l. It looks as though the cable from the tone cabinet to the keyboard is not original.. there are two versions of model l schematics. One uses 6sc7, the other one use 6sn7 across the top. Tuning Due to the age of components usually go flat. I had usually adjusted the tuning coils all 36 of them starting from the top note working down Also, the vibrato circuit suffers. Most have to be replaced. Check out ham solo on the internet which is a sample program of my solovox from polkasound productions Can be used polyphonic. It seems you have a model style connector with a model l tone cabinet and keyboard. Standard model l connector was a circular connector. This seems very odd this may have been retrofitted somehow.

I own a recording studio that specializes in jazz and let me tell you - that guitar (and the recording) sounds terrific. Really terrific. Um... why does the link for the guitar connect to an Asian gambling page...??

Thanks! I’ve updated the guitar link. Here’s the correct website; combsguitars.com

Someday these little secrets will be out of the bag and they will get expensive. I have one I Converted it sounds so good into a pair of 10” Jensen alnico speakers. Also the position 3 output, which is basically a tube pre amp, sounds incredible into my 1967 Fender Super Reverb. Gets the SUPER INTO crunch and great sustain without peeling the paint.

Excellent. Best cover on Songbird so far. Masterly finger style. You are far better than many who do cover songs. You should appear frequently. ❤

I come to the garden alone While the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear, falling on my ear The Son of God discloses And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am His own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known He speaks and the sound of His voice Is so sweet the birds hush their singing And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am His own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known

Been nerding out on your builds and mods for the last couple days. Well done. I have an Roberts 770x on the way I’d like to use exclusively for guitar, so I appreciate this simplified version of the ‘SOS’. I know it can be used for guitar completely stock, without modifying. I plan to try it out that way for a little to get a feel for the circuit. I believe stock the ef86 channel is up top and available in the deck’s playback mode. 12ax7 in record mode. Since there’s a preamp out on the stock unit, is it safe to plug into the top and jumper from the stock preamp out to the bottom section? Additionally, do you think it’s possible to turn the sound on sound or monitor button into the play/record switch to channel select? Just trying to find the simplest way to make use of both channels, together or separate, without veering too far from stock form. Thanks again Kyle!

Dude... that was stunning! Beautiful! You play fingerstyle the way I always wanted to play. Dan Fogelberg was criminally underrated as a musician and songwriter. I would love to hear you do 'Nexus.' Or 'River of Souls.' I've been a Dan Fan since the early 1970s. I don't know what brought you into my feed, but I'm happy to sub after that performance. edit: Ooh! Do 'Windows and Walls'!!

Is that a two stage preamp with the 5879, then 12AX7 and 12AX7 phase inverter? Sounds beautiful-no mods. Brilliant! Got a 302 and it’s going to get tricky but possible-it’s just more of a rats nest. Does it affect the power transformer when you are using just a couple of the taps for amp only, and not the projector power?
