Just stumbled upon your content, but I really love the chill and realistic vibes here. Personally, I much prefer high-grade hanwoo over high-grade wagyu. I feel like wagyu doesn't taste beefy enough and is way too rich. IMO, hanwoo occupies the perfect middle ground between A5 wagyu and USDA prime steaks.

May I ask if sports shoes are good enough for this hike or better to wear hiking boots?
@nick_and_ada
@nick_and_ada 6 ай бұрын
We wore boots but i (nick) really really regretted it. It added a ton of weight and wasn't comfortable for a full day hike. I'd recommend for you to wear hiking shoes (basically running shoes with more traction, e.g. from Salomon or Hoka) or wear running shoes and bring along crampons!! You might also want to wear gaiters if you don't want too much snow going in 😂

@@nick_and_ada Thanks for the reply. I've been to colder waters (1-5 degrees) but I wore a dry suit. So can't feel the cold. I did a dive in GBR wearing wet suit and the water was 22 degrees ... I was silvering throughout...haha. you guys are amazing (zai) to endure 10 degree on a wetsuit. Thanks again .. looking forward to trying as well..

Hi!! Registration is required for the 2 trails that reach the summit of hallasan - gwaneumsa and seongpanak! They are free but there are limited slots available so do register early; i believe they open a month or two in advance! Btw, do check up on the rules as there are requirements regarding the timing you enter as well as when you reach certain checkpoints!!! Happy hiking 😆😆

@nick_and_ada
@nick_and_ada 9 ай бұрын
The shuttle bus in was alright as people go in at different timings, but the buses out of the slopes were really really full as everyone tries to ski till the last minute. Some people had to stand up in the bus, whilst many were left behind to wait 😂😂 hope this helps!!

A little late to the comments, but fellow Singaporean who is gonna grad uni next year!🎉 Planning to go Mid-end august 2024. How was driving in the winter like for you guys? my concern is black ice on roads, did you encounter any during the winter ?
@nick_and_ada
@nick_and_ada 10 ай бұрын
Hi!! Congrats on your upcoming grad 🤘🏻🔥 Driving in winter in new zealand was actually pretty great! The roads are regularly checked, maintained, and if there's any danger, they either close the road or have loads of warning signs in the area. We didn't have to use our snow chains at all (however, do note that we went in june so conditions might be quite different). NZ also has a department focused on road conditions so you might want to check their website regularly when you're there! I think some of my friends were trapped in towns when there was too much snow at the exits. Do also note that some roads, like those going to milford, may be closed during periods of bad weather Hope this helps!!

Was this Winter? Is it a good season to visit NZ?
@nick_and_ada
@nick_and_ada Жыл бұрын
Yes! We went in late June and had a lovely time on all of our hikes, with views of freshly fallen snow on mountains and fields 😍 do note that winter brings about some challenges, such as bouts of unpredictable windy, rainy, and snowy weather, short daylight hours (especially when you have to drive quite abit to get anywhere in NZ), as well as snow on the hiking trails, making them more tiring and difficult. If we were to go back to NZ, we would still choose to go back in winter!!! ❄️⛄️
