I've seen many countertops your company has done. The only thing that I don't like is the surface on most countertops I've seen you can feel that the surface is not as slick as a epoxy finish

Look into The SolidMount it is the only designed and patented mounting bracket that was designed just for Fiberglass enclosures. The Solid Mount attaches directly to the studs behind the fiberglass shower and takes all the load off the fiberglass shower. Remember the grab bar is only as solid and safe as the item it is attached to. thesolidmount.com/

These videos are good, but not one has addressed the problem of when the wall behind it is an outside concrete wall. I had to find out the hard way on my own. When your wall behind you tile is an outside wall, it will not be a hollow wall, which all these spread apart anchors are made for. No matter how deep you drill, you will not be able to hook up any anchor that has to spread out behind the wall. You have to use plugs, plastic or metal. And make sure the screws are stainless steel, or else they will start rusting in and outside of the wall, with orange seeping down.

I'm in South California and I'm stucco painter, from walls interior/ exterior. I stain and oil cabinetry and also refinish old or ugly bathtubs. I charge $180 labor and material for a bathtub and so on.

I use NAPCO products. A very high quality product. They pay a lot for advertising. I don't. So they pass that cost on to the customers. I don't. I honor and provide a warranty so you can remove all doubt. I have a very large customer base all by referral. No advertising so I don't have to pass that cost on to me customers. Next time you make a comment make sure you do your research. So... look up NAPCO. You will see that this is a very high quality products. Thank you Mr noreplay

In another MM video, a customer made a video of the sort of multi colored, granite look they did in his shower floor, lower tile area that was peeling off, flaking and miscolored. Not sure how old the job was or any other details. Might this have been a case of bad prep, bad install, etc by the company that did his? Or is best to stay with a more solid color, stone look for shower floor and tile floor areas with more foot traffic? Like to do our out of date, maple cutting board, kitchen counter tops if this MM is reliable. That natural stone used here looks very nice.

How much does it cost to refurbish a tub ?
@billysyms57617 жыл бұрын
Should have pulled the cabinet to have access to skirt of bathtub. Could have replaced drain too. Not getting silicone off the tub before etching will leave those areas un-etched and could make your coating peel or fish eye. Use a good industrial cleaner to remove all oil / soap from tub surfaces then give the tub a quick wet sanding with 150 grit (to remove any paint spotting or rust stains). Now acid wash tub, rinse and wet sand again. It's ready for an epoxy primer to bond to it. Not using primer is a mistake a lot of guys make to do these tubs fast. Let the primer set up for 30 minutes then apply the top coat in 3 coats (1 flash, 2 burns). Mask off the entire floor with brown paper, 18" around the tub with green paper and plastic sheet off everything else - vacuumed out your room will be like a spray booth. Your tubs will come out smooth with no debris and not needing to be polished. There are coatings out there where you can pull masking, caulk and install fixtures - no going back. They're "Billy approved" too, trust me I try a lot of them. You're right to point ot this is not a DIY job, and is the most toxic thing any tradesman will do in your home. 50% of the tubs I do are re-doing the other guys (failing) job. The best way to reglaze tubs is still old school (acid wash, primer ad top coat).

What are you using that allows you to remove masking and cualk without having to come back?
@brandonkerns41157 жыл бұрын
The coating is as good as the man doing the job! That's a truism in this line of work . The materials will perform as advertised as long as the process is followed. I've used and tested most of them for coming up on 20 years. Very few head scratching results that always eventually taught invaluable lessons. This particular national franchise is considerably further ahead material and tech wise than where it was when the video was shot and currently is by far the industry leader. They simply reinvested in the research and other reputable laboratories instead of lining their pockets. Amazingly after all this time it's awesome to see that they still do the same thing. They put a few people like me to work testing new products and advances for years on end and cross-examined results for accuracy. I've personally done almost exclusively high end residential or large scale commercial projects across the country for the last 15 years that I could easily list on here today so some of you could go see them. They don't force or even try to ask me to say or not say anything that violates my honesty principles. We all work with someone who takes shortcuts...in EVERY line of work. These guys do have a system to quickly identify and correct those issues so even the few mistakes are capitalized on. It makes all the difference in the world if you stand behind your word. If any of you have experienced any adhesion issues then by all means you should require the work be warrantied no matter what company did the job. Working with them while being critical and skeptical, this system is today, to be perfectly honest, almost foolproof. I first got into this industry as a skeptic and fell in love with it because like the military, if you follow the logical process and pay attention to detail it really works well beyond the warranty. Generally people always remember when you do right by them but they never forget when they're lied to or taken advantage of. I've lived with refinished surfaces in my homes from the very beginning and experienced the advancements as they happened. I wish I had the time to start a page to show the capabilities of todays products and processes. Currently their website covers it in pretty good detail. Good luck out there y'all and just remember, do your homework and ask for references. Not some show room somewhere but actual work done. Due diligence! I'll answer any serious questions and go out of my way to help any of you if you really need help. Take care fam!

man so much hate for a good job... i doubt if most of you can even do this. just admit it, they are pros. I feel good about that job they did. It may be cheaper to purchase a new tub but not cheaper in the end when it comes to plumbing, hauling, labor/re tiling. get real.

What a goofy video why wasn't the tile installed first ?When the tile man gets finished dropping and walking all over that cheap paint finish even if its covered it wont look like crap again .That is a cheap steel tub not a cast iron tub and it flex's and the paint will let go and the rust will come back .
