I remember seeing this trumpeter some time ago on KZbin raving about Lotus trumpets 😒
@AllThingsBrassAndTechnology2 сағат бұрын
My name is dB. You'll also hear me rave about Monette Trumpets. One thing to keep in mind though. It's not the horn it's the person playing it. If you haven't subscribed, click the Subscribe button and keep it moving.

dB, beautiful story and I like how you kept the focus on Roy through the whole video and barely said anything about yourself other than you were there... I’m sure you played your ass off too but too modest to say so... Much respect. Roy was a very special person and Cleo’s was a special place.

ey men i love to see your old videos more then one time and i cant decide between unity b1 7 or some lotus like 1xl2 because i liked the bach 1c to my big lips...what you prefer now lotus or monette?
@AllThingsBrassAndTechnologyАй бұрын
Hi my favorite mouthpieces are Bach mouthpieces and it always has been. After that it would be a Monette. dB sends Love and Respect to you.

My way of holding the trumpet has evolved just as yours did. I even had some tell me to bend the fingers on the R hand and not keep them straight. The reason I hold the horn with the left hand with room for “a ball” is because for me it made manipulation of the third valve slide much easier to do without disturbing everything else. Never considered the tension but makes sense now that you mentioned it. Sweet! Thank you.😊 Also, it seems to me that putting the pinky finger in the pinky loop when keeping the R hand fingers more straight is more natural.

I also bought a Phat Puppy from Doug based on your review and Trent from Austin Custom Brass. I am a come back cornet and Trumpet player and had never touched a flugelhorn. I am very pleased with my purchase. The horn plays great, the valves and construction are excellent.

How comfortable does that horn feel? What conventional horn does it feel closest to?
@AllThingsBrassAndTechnology2 ай бұрын
Hey Jason, the plastic trumpet does not feel comfortable at all and I cannot compare it to anything. What you see in this video is me trying with every fiber of my spirit, to play this plastic trumpet. The End

Sounding amazing per usual DB! Thanks for sharing the music. excuse my ignorance, but are you running through a pedal or is it just the reverb into the mic or something else to get that cool sound? unrelated, but I'd love to see you do a pedal board video! Thanks for the beautiful music

Nice story . If I may offer an opinion, lose the loop please. I find it annoying and has nothing to do with encouraging development. In Philly I heard Freddy. Like you said about Woody, he was a history lesson.
