My neighbor did this in his borewell. After few years the well collapsed from some depth and he has to spent a lot of money to bring back the well to use.

Thank you for your Valuable information. Would you mind telling us where the location is. It may be due to the Quality of Soil and Rock. Also we are having a PVC Pipe in the borewell and the rest is Solid Rock. The Quality of the Rock may change according to the Region.

@@plathottampala This has happened in Bangalore. Few more people told me about the same problem they have faced when direct recharge is implemented. Normally we install PVC or MS pipe till we struck rocks while drilling. There can be multiple fractures (gaps)in the borewell at different levels. When the rain water, which will be certainly at good volume suddenly fall from a height, the soil or small loose rocks get loosened from these gaps and start accumulating at the bottom of the well, eventually filling up the well bottom.
