The Dek system is pretty slick. Do you think you would invest in the cargo slide on top one day, or not practical?

Since I have access to the whole bed via the side doors I don’t have any need for one for my setup. But in a different use case it could be awesome.
@kevinflorer12119 күн бұрын
I actually thought to buy that or one like it. I'm still looking at options and one that will fit my needs as for as gear I think you may like the "Hike man" Camping spice and oil set has 4 120ml plastic bottles for oils or sauces and 4 glass spice bottles I gave those away I found that the small jars you can put 8-12 of them it will fit great in one of those divided compartments.

Good stuff man. One tip on the head lamp - Angle it all the way down, then put it on upside down and move it down to your neck and just let it hang there around your neck. Upside down plus angling it all the way makes it shine out in front of you. Just reach up and turn it on. It lights up where you’re walking, whatever you’re working on with your hands, but doesn’t blind other people. And there’s no problem with hats or the band squeezing your noggin.

I live in SE Tennessee. Our trails are tiny compared to out west so my FJ Cruiser is pretty damn good for maneuvering in the woods. Having less space isn’t fun but the FJ holds enough for a week long adventure

What area did you camp? Don’t need specifics but curious what canyons are open during winter for camping. I’m in SLC.
@coleeades14 күн бұрын
This is up Cub River in Idaho. Only reason we got where we did was because of the lack of snow. Once we get more snow I usually camp out in the parking lots where we snowmobile from. If you DM me on insta I’m happy to give even more info if needed. (@coleeades)

The biggest con for my F150 is the intercooler being right where I want to put a winch. I'll relocate it eventually and put a winch in there.

What I’ve seen on other videos is people use their diesel heater hose to prevent their water from freezing. They have a longer hose and wrap it around the container. You could try something like that. Good luck.
@coleeades15 күн бұрын
That’s a good idea. I think I’m going to order an RV tank heater pad on Amazon and wire it to a 12v cigarette plug
@trevorcassell648914 күн бұрын
That may work but will tank a lot of power. I was refering to using the hose going to your tent. You will lose minimal heat but keep items from freezing.@@coleeades
@MarkTreleaven13 күн бұрын
Those are 37" tires on the Tundra?
@coleeades13 күн бұрын
My hose goes directly to the port in my tent, power is below so no way to wrap it great. Also the longer the heater hose the higher chance of overheating error. The tank heater pads only pull like 30 watts depending on the size. Should be pretty efficient if I just run it occasionally. Will test it out and let everyone know.

Do these Vevor heaters with Bluetooth have updateable firmware? Either via the app or perhaps a USB connection? How is this model for maintaining a BT connection? I was watching another video on a new model with more bells and whistles, but it appears that that model has problems with the BT disconnecting constantly, but not reconnecting. The guy has to literally power the heater down, turn it back on and then BT connects again. This is very bad, so now I wonder if that's a common issue with Vevor BT heaters and if they are firmware updateable. Thanks in advance.
@coleeades17 күн бұрын
Honestly not sure on the firmware updates. But my BT connection is super solid. All I do is open the app and it automatically connects in seconds. I’ve never had to go to my Bluetooth settings at all.

Why did you not go Tundra? I ask only because it is non turbo and therefore more reliable, right? Genuinely wanting to know because I am torn between these 2 trucks.
@coleeades18 күн бұрын
The Tundra is also a twin turbo V6. Both engines are very reliable. I’m a huge fan of Toyota but when I bought my truck the 3rd gen Tundra wasn’t even released yet and I had no interest in the second gen. Both trucks are amazing and a great choice

How air tight is it? Like if you drive down a dusty trail. Will it be full of dust inside??? Looks like it will be full of dust.
@coleeades19 күн бұрын
The actual Dwell Shell is very airtight. Most dust comes from how bad the seals are on truck beds. I still don’t get a perfect seal on the tailgate but otherwise it’s great.
