🤔 So didn't several Nations Intelligent Agencies report that Ruzzia was going to start targeting cargo on cargo aircraft?🧐

Well, that one belongs to the insurance company now. So glad the pilots were able to get that thing on the ground and get out of it. Fire is a pilot’s worst nightmare especially at altitude.

Wow, that's a total loss. YOu should be able to salvage some other bits, but the main fuselauge is toast...

Lithium batteries ? I wouldn't think they'd be allowed on an aircraft but we will see.
@Exuma_GuyСағат бұрын
IATA Dangerous Goods guidelines allow lithium batteries on cargo aircraft but with stipulations. When the guidelines are not followed, such as unscrupulous or lazy shippers allowing undeclared hazmat to be loaded, then problems happen.

On another news, there was likely a 787 write off (a China Southern 787 that suffered a tailstrike) after its registration is now cancelled

Lithium batteries are a bitch, we need more of them. An entire firehouse burned down in Germany, they would not come out and say it was the electric fire trucks but that is what they were using.

Glad the pilots are ok. I don't know how they keep calm enough to fly the plane in emergencies like this. Great work from the fire fighters.

That was a 30 years old 737-400. I can't imagine they're going to repair it. They'll salvage what they can, engines, gear, possibly avionics and scrap the rest.

Spare engines and avionics will all that will be salvaged here.

Sounds much like batteries as cargo! Great that the crew is ok and was still able to land the aircraft!
@nanookfireman3066 сағат бұрын
I am curious about how you came to that conclusion? There is nothing in the given information as to what caused this fire. Anything is a possibility, but there are so many things carried in cargo I am curious how you can narrow it down to that.
@samaipata47563 сағат бұрын
@ I‘m a retired Pilot with lots of experience transporting hazardous materials! With very few exemptions fire hazardous materials are today contained in very safe containers, only posing danger if damaged example in a crash landing. The few exemptions are batteries. Here the pictures show, that this fire started in the cargo area. In the fuselage fires can start in the wheel wells or as electrical fires, mostly starting In the cockpit, very unlikely (not impossible) in fuselage. Electrical wiring particular in the fuselage is extremely well protected. And electrical fires are 99% caused by faulty maintenance, therefore much more likely in the cockpit where maintenance work is more common.

A pilot's worst nightmare. Fire on the aircraft. Not smoke, but actual fire. Glad they made it down safely and down that rope. That aircraft will be written off I'm sure. There are things that can be salvaged, starting with the engines and landing gear... Keep up the good work, Keoni.. ARFF seems to be expertly trained worldwide.
@almirria67537 сағат бұрын
Any bets that is was a hazmat fire [maybe lithium-ion batt's] .... Just glad the crew got out via the flight deck windows, because the smoke could have killed them right there on the spot

My first thought was lithium batteries. Should be outlawed on planes.

He is fortunate that it stayed grounded. With nothing to counteract the torque, he would have been spinning and dizzy within seconds. You can already see the effects of torque as the frame tries turning left in the dirt! 😅
