UPDATE: found original manual and radio code at uncles house. Will try to re-install this radio and put the OG code in and see what happens. The code on the sticker on the side of the glove box seemed to work at first. Have doubts.

Thanks for the video I am about to do this job on my 2004 Cruiser. I am having a very hard time removing the center console cover because of the geometry with the parking brake lever. I have it up as far as it will go but I’m still going to need to bend the plastic cover if I can to get it over the lever. This may be because my parking brake cable had stretched over time and was recently tightened up by a garage mechanic.

Sweet! I just bought a used 2002 PT cruiser, but I didn't check it out in reverse when I got it. Sometimes it goes in reverse and sometimes it doesn't. I'll have to take a look at it.

Good. I think that's the best way to adjust it is just take the whole drum /rotor off and then adjust it and then put it back on it should be a little bit loose

Videos of what don’t work are often as valuable as ones of what do work. Thanks for the vid, man. Currently drilling out mine bc I didn’t watch anything first and wasn’t aware it was a known issue. Didn’t use heat, it promptly snapped with just not-strong me and a breaker bar. Important note, use a Grade 8 bolt or it isn’t likely to be safe bc a standard grade bolt may snap.

Interesting. Stumbled across this. Did this exact thing yesterday except I used hot glue. It's extremely firm now. Question - my plastic piece was too big to fit into the cable hole due to the rim, I had to trim the bottom edge off to make it fit, did you have this problem?
