They’re all looking pretty good 👍🏻 to me. 😂 I’ve got sons and jokingly told them that if I didn’t like who they were marrying I’d go to their wedding in full Victorian Mourning Dress hat 🎩, veil and all!

My mother would've hated wearing a dress, so I would not have put her in one. I would've said, "What do you want to wear?" And then I would've put my vanity in the back seat & let her wear what she felt comfortable in.

You never "bash" anyone! If people don't understand how all of this works, but no one ever tells them, they will never learn and will continue through life unaware. When it comes to buying anything at ridiculously low prices from foreign countries, you must realize that you will get low-quality goods. If it is clothing, everything about it will be unsatisfactory. You won't even get quality fabric to alter. If you see something advertised for hundreds of dollars less than the store price, you will be lucky to get something even wearable. If you are going to prom, a wedding, or other special event, you must plan, save, search sales or resale sites like The RealReal, or ThredUp, for example. Anytime you go for alterations, you must know you will pay for the work. There is a reason what you bought needs the extent of work you are asking for. I love your channel and watching you work. I love that you are always kind and patient. Honestly, sometimes I get so irritated at what some of your clients request that I wonder what they were thinking when they purchased what they bring to you. I admire your calm, matter-of-fact approach.

Why do people never understand that you get what you pay for. The lesson is that if you buy cheap "stuff" from other countries you will get cheap, frequently unusable, "stuff."

Not one shoulder. No slit up to my thigh. I’m old enough to be a mother of the bride (actually I could be a grandma of the bride also) and I wouldn’t wear any of them to a wedding. I would want to be dressed in something beautiful, timeless, elegant but not “showy” & would not embarrass my daughter. I would want people to tell her she was lucky to have me as a mom. That day belongs wholly to my daughter and I would not want to take away from her excitement or diminish her in any way. If I could apply a verse of scripture to the occasion it would be “ she must increase, I must decrease.” If it wasn’t for a wedding, the last one is stunning and I would definitely wear it. If there was a slit it could stop below the knee. I don’t believe in unwrapping a gift before it’s been given. BTW the comments were turned off on the short video with your daughter. She is adorable and a delight. She will grow up to be a confident, savvy business woman.

In my opinion a LOT of those dresses these teens wear for prom now are too sexy for their age. Even if they technically are 18 by their senior prom. They want to dress like that for a few different reasons, & besides copying famous singers those reasons might sound fine. But they're still not understanding that though a man is responsible for controlling himself & being sure of consent, dresses like that scream "I give consent to all to see me only 1 slip-up from indecent exposure so that they can imagine me naked & also envy my date cause he almost certainly will get what you're imagining before the night is over". They do this with swimsuits too. I'm not a prude, but I do think even in these times where society in general & the law hold people responsible for their actions with those under 18, there are too many parents letting their teens dress in things most certainly designed to overtly advertise the wearer's sexuality rather than the person's style as whole & if you let your preteen or teen wear it you're condoning others seeing them as a sex object 1st. There's an important difference there that I think most teens don't even see, as they haven't experienced enough life to get those subtleties. It's understandable they want to feel glamorous & special on a special occasion that does mark them as about to be grown & starting their adult life. However, they aren't understanding that they are contributing to the mindset that a person's most valuable asset is their body, not their mind & heart. After all, what you advertise the most about yourself is what others are going to think of you. I feel like there are plenty of glamorous styles out there that flatter the figure but don't cross the line & parents need to help teens understand the difference.

I am Italian and therefore the homeland of fashion let's say I think it is a terrifying thing. That we are in a historical moment in which we only pay attention to the body, to the matter that will then become dust and even the same girl who speaks in the video with those fake eyebrows fake eyelashes fake hair fake nails... I think that beauty is not this I think that true beauty is the inner one no matter what race and color you belong to, but if there is not that thing inside you can put anything on, you are always a nobody! You are always an empty shell, and this is the problem, when you are a shell you are swimming like a piece of cork in the ocean storm. You are without an anchor, without roots, without a goal, you are absolutely manipulable by anyone. I believe that the disaster that America is experiencing at this moment and all of the West, is this extreme superficiality, this extreme narrow-mindedness and fascination towards something that should be an ornament, that should embellish a value that is inside. what do we do in a future society where these teenagers will be prey to unscrupulous predators and will have no weapon of defense? because with the naked body, heels and feathers you have no weapon of defense. I think that simple is beautiful and dignified, it is chic. I think that a good six months spent in the freezing cold of Siberia, without a cell phone, without fake nails changed every hour, without all the luxury and comfort and useless bullshit that these empty influencers enjoy, and these kids lost in the middle of nowhere, would do them a lot of good, because they would come back down to earth

Oh my gosh. When you hesitated on sharing your feelings about the quality of the fabric, I knew exactly what you were up against. These dresses these gals buy online are shameful. I think they should put a disclaimer on the website stating "When Ordering Please Note That Size, Color and Quality may vary.". I don't know if that would help. I compare the material to Halloween costume satin. Almost as if you snag it, it would literally make a hole.

Used Windsor for my youngest Sweet 16, ordered online and it was perfect. Used Macy’s for my oldest tried in a few dresses in the store then decided to take my chances with one online out of desperation, it was perfect. If you are in NYC go to the farmer district 32nd to 36 street from 7th to 10th Avenue. Tons of shops, amazing dresses at all price point you just gotta try them on over your clothes for the most part and it gets a bit crowded prom season so shop early.

Sometimes it's the mom pretending to be the victim and acting like their daughter is a bridezilla- I think it all depends. Some moms dress in something for attention because they want all of the attention on them for what should be their child's big day. Some moms just wanna be there to support their child.

This woman shows no bare boobs and butt, but she looks far sexier than so many half naked women in there! Her skin tone matches the outfit color perfectly. This outfit could not be worn by a white woman, it would spoil it totally. Such a perfect match.

That short one with the cape style sleeves was the only one I could picture my mother wearing comfortably. One sleeve options don't let you wear a standard bra, and most of the rest weren't suited to mobility issues. But I know that isn't everything people are looking for on their wedding day.

When I got married, my MIL kept hounding me for what my mom was going to be wearing. My mom HATES dresses. I finally told MIL to go ahead and pick whatever she liked (she went with a purple number from JC Penney). My mom dug around the Internet for what she liked and came up with a fabulous dress that looked awesome on her, (despite me telling her she could most definitely wear a pant suit if she wanted), and she asked my opinion. I loved everything except it was black and it felt weird to have a black dress on the MOB in the middle of August. So she exchanged the dress for the same one in navy blue, because a purple one was not available. I did not tell my mom or MIL what color to wear. They independently of each other love purple. Mom looked amazing. MIL looked fabulous.

This alteration worked very well. When I watch these shorts I often wonder does she ever have a difficult time doing these alterations. She has the ideas and skills ( I sew also so I understand the work she has to do to fix many from total disasters) but does she ever try to suggest something less revealing. There are multiple girls with prom dresses that are totally tasteless. When girls are very obese, have so much sausage rolls that they look like a second set of breasts on the back, it is embarrasing for them to be that revealing. I simply would try to direct those customers to something less revealing. If the comments are turned off one can imagine there were too many nasty comments. There are trolls of course, but if the comments must be turned off, I can only imagine snarky comments done behind the girls back.
