Get good CRM and communicate AHEAD of time who is allowed to do what... Also you are not hearing the communications between the co-pilot and the pilot... As the pilot here, this happened as it was supposed to. CRM is crucial, there must be no fight or confusion in the cockpit. thanks for the comment.

I own the X700 here in the UK. How do you find its performance on 70cm? Mine really pulls in the local stations at a bunch stronger signal but cannot hear long distance compared to my X50

Well. It was great for a while until i had weird swr spikes. I thought it was the coax connector bad soldering, etc… until i took the antenna down and dismantled it to see that the inside coper rod was broken at multiple places… so i understand why they stopped making them, too long and bending too much in the wind. The X500 is shorter… there are also X500 equivalent from China if I remember…

How do you find the X700, Have you been able to compare with any other dual band verticals at the same height?
@VE2FET3 жыл бұрын
Good gain but fragile because of the wind. When i removed it found out the copper rod inside was broken at 2 places... after changing antenna connectors etc thinking it was something else. They don’t make them anymore for a reason. X500 is a bit shorter might be better durability...

after the the spitfire (I think it was a spitfire anyway) crashed into the golf course outside the Ottawa airport I would suspect they decided to make airshows happen in less densely populated or built up areas to avoid collateral damage ... aside from the loss of life and a good plane it also caused about 30,000 damages and the airshow had to pay a HUGE insurance premium to cover that in future ... and the damages did NOT include clean up ... or the investigation ... yes the airshow paid for all of it by their insurance ... . and yes I saw it happen ... it was a sad thing to see ... but the russian mig doing the snap the dragon manouver after things got underway again brought some life back into the show ...

So what does a 80 ft Tower without anything else cost? About a hundred grand? Holyshit! I'm not sure risking your life is worth the risk I mean I'm not sure ham radio is worth the risk. Although I'd probably do it too. I guess as long as you have a spotter and a good safety system which it looks like you have I guess it's not too bad. Without Really knowing anything about these things it looks as if that deal hook to the Rope is made so that if you fall it will grab the rope and stop you from falling any further. I would imagine that has to be how it works?

Very nice but I am intrigued by new reports about engine 'howling' at (miniscule moments of overall flight) which Zurich residents are complaining about hearing upon arriving A220 aircraft. At 2:22 on beginning of take off roll, the howl is very noticable and unique to the GTF and ive been going over this over and over again tryi g to figure out the reason. Could it be the change in ratio of RPM between the compressor rotor and fan blade on engine power up (GTF)? Air mass dramatically changes in ingestion at high power demand. Could this be a reasoning of that unique 'howl' sound? I really would like to find out why. Very interested. Halsey Bartlett Jr.

I did the HUD refits on the CF-18 during the early 90's at CFB North Bay. That very jet you see in this video was one of the CF-18's I worked on. I have had the privilege(?) of going on several rides on the CF-18 and all I can say is my guts are still somewhere over North Bay. I made puking and retching sounds that I didn't know the human body can make. One pilot took great delight in causing me to black out when he did a rollover followed by an inside turn.
@danmcw74434 жыл бұрын
That's too bad. I always took great care to make rides a pleasant experience. When you're puking your gut out, or blacked out, it's not enjoyable. Memorable, yes... enjoyable, no! :)

when watching the video there is a cable on the right that goes from top of tower to bottom I'm guessing looks like a ground wire??? What kind of cable is that and where can I find one and what do I look for or ask for when shopping for it? looks like a thick braided cable. I will be in need of a ground wire soon to run up my 72 ft tower. Thanks for sharing. As for the music I would have rather had you talking explaining things rather than it LOL :)
@VE2FET6 жыл бұрын
Hi! The cable is a size #4 connected to multiple copper rods and also to the rod of the house electrical ground.
@mikemcdonald51476 жыл бұрын
