(Subtítulos en español) Once upon a time, fairy Amalka went through the forest Una vez, el hada Amalka iba cruzando el bosque and she found her way to a narrow-foot bridge y llegó hasta un puente de un pie de ancho. "who are you?" said Amalka -¿Y tú quién eres? Dijo Amalka "I'm the horned ram" "Soy el carnero con cuernos" "And where ever are you going?" said Amalka "Y hacia dónde vas tú? dijo amalka "Straight ahead" Said the horned Ram "Derecho hacia adelante" Dijo el carnero con cuernos "Gosh...I'm going also straight ahead" Amalka said startled "Oh por...yo también voy por este camino" dice amalka con sobresalto. "Will you carry me, hormed Ram?" "Me llevarias cargada, carnero con cuernos?" I don't know Amalka...I'm a hard headed ram! "No estoy seguro Amalka, soy un carnero muy terco" "Since you are so sweet...I will lead you to a secret meadow!" Dijo Amalka ¡Como eres tan dulce, te llevaré hasta un prado secreto! (intermediate music) That meadow must have had a thousand million billion of flowers El prado debe haber tenido miles de millones de billones de flores and they tasted honey sweet! ¡Y sabían dulce como la miel! and the horned ram gorged himself on them Y el carnero de atiborró de ellas Amalka nicely caressed the ram but it didn't help Amalka acarició gentilmente al carnero, pero no funcionó Finally she said Finalmente dijo Just lie here comfortably and don't move even a hoof Sólo acuéstate aquí cómodo y no muevas ni una pezuña and I will bring to you an herb for health Y te traeré una planta medicinal The ram was waiting a long time El carnero estuvo esperando largo rato and so he went to look for the herb by himself y así fué él mismo a buscar la planta (intermediate music) but nothing was good the ram's health ...pero nada ninguna era medicina para la salud del carnero ...then at the very edge of the secret meadow entonces en el mismísimo límite del prado secrteo such a sad herb was growing Una planta triste estaba viviendo so much so that the ram stopped for a bit of chat, that it might be comforting Tanto que el carnero se detuvo por una pequeña conversación, que podría serle reconfortante Why so sad? the ram asked ¿Por qué tan triste? preguntó el carnero "Passed by already seven rams" said the herb with a strange affection" "Ya han pasado siete carneros" Dijo la planta con un extraño tono and not one even took a nibble, not even a bit of my leaf. That's why i'm so sad. Y ninguna tomó ni siquiera un mordisquito, ni un poquito de mis hojas. Por eso estoy tan triste. "And what if i took a bite for health?" said the ram "¿Y qué tal si tomo un mordisco para curarme?", dijo el carnero. Gosh! That would be merry Si! Eso sería excelente The ram hurried after the leaf to be quickly healthy El carnero se apresuró a comerse la hoja para mejorarse rápido and right after that he fell under a spell E inmediatamente luego cayó en un hechizo (intermediate music) He ran and ran but got all the paths mixed up Corría y corría pero todas las direcciones se confundían and that strange voice haunted him through every blade of grass Y esa extraña voz le perseguía en cada hoja de pasto careful little ram careful! ¡Cuidado, pequeño carnero, cuidado! "Don't take another step Horned Ram!" Shouted Amalka at the last second. ¡No des un paso más, carnero con cuernos! Gritó Amalka al último segundo. after that she led the ram over the meadow to her spring Y luego se llevó al carnero hasta su pozo en la pradera so he could sleep away that strange bewitchment Para que durmiera hasta pasar ese extraño encantamiento and the ram slept and slept, and amalka had plenty of time Y el carnero durmió y durmió, y Amalka tenía mucho tiempo disponible. (intermediate music) then the little moon's curiosity begging him, the misfortune reached to the heavens Luego de que la curiosa luna quisiera observar, la desgracia llegó al cielo(sky) Do what she could, Amalka couldn't reach the bottom Haciendo lo que podía, Amalka no llegaba al fondo del pozo and it got even worse! The water began to cloud over from the moon's chill ¡Y se ponía peor! El agua comenzó a ponerse opaca por el frío de la luna. struck seven seconds and the spring iced up with the little moon frozen in it. Siete breves segundos pasaron tan rápido y el pozo se hizo hielo con la luna congelada en él. (brief music) The horned ram had an unquenchable thirst after that strange herb El carnero con cuernos tenía una sed insaciable, luego de comer aquella extraña planta and he drank and drank, until he drank all the way to the little moon! ¡Y bebió y bebió hasta alcanzar a la pequeña luna! and the moon said upon parting "Thank you ram, thank you Amalka... Y la luna en su partida dijo "Gracias Carnero, gracias Amalka..." "otherwise I would be here forever lying frozen in the spring..." De otra manera, yacería aquí por siempre congelada en el pozo... an at night it would be always only dark Y siempre en las noches sólo habría oscuridad... Good night Amalka Buenas noches Amalka Good night little moon Buenas noches pequeña luna Good night little ram Buenas noches pequeño carnero

Perhaps it's a sly statement on economics. this is the soviet bloc we talking bout and there ain't much in name of economy, its really sneaky that no one back then seem to thought about it like that. I might be wrong on that through but still a thought to think about

I wasn't born yet when this cartoon was made, and I wasn't raised in the same country to see it either. But I still know that my younger self would have loved this adorable show! Glad that little episodes like this could be uploaded, it's so sweet and wholesome for the dreary world that I almost got used to in the present day. Kudos to the people who created Fairy Amalka all those years ago!

Two translation corrections: 4:41 "sighing she died, after the child glancing back" (not children, as the video translates incorrectly) 4:54 "and from the child in the same moment I have made of him an orphan" (the video again incorrectly says plural "children and orphans") In other words, they had one son. I TRULY APPRECIATE THIS VIDEO. MUCH LOVE 💜💙💛❤💚
