Hi Ged, just been going through all of your content, really insightful stuff. Me and the wife just arrived from UK to start a new life here. Currently in Huahin for 5 weeks and then head to Samui in January for a couple of months before going to check out krabi and Phuket before deciding which spot to lay some roots down and lease a villa. Stayed in Lamai in Samui for 3 months last year and loved it but it’s getting pricey there now. Loving the content mate, it surely does help us newbies out. Best regards Ged and Gaynor. 👍

Good morning James. Yes, it was filmed at the Bangrood Arcadia Resort. It will be well worth the trip in February for a few days to get away from the busier area of Hua Hin. Its about a two and a half hour drive. south of Hua Hin. Safe travels. Ged

Sorry I didn't see the whole message before I answered. As far as I know the pension only rises with countries with reciprocal rights, which the Philippines are for some reason but Thailand isn't. There are some European countries with reciprocal rights. My mum came to live in Australia and her pension was frozen when she left as it's not a reciprocal country. I hope that this helps

My heart was pounding with anxiety when you went into the Immigration office for the 2nd and 3rd time because I've had the same experience on several occasions in Pattaya (now in my 15th consecutive year on a retirement visa) so well done to you for getting through it all. I moved to Bangkok a few months ago so my next renewal will be a (sort of) new experience in the Bangkok Immigration office (In January 2025) and I am predictably dreading it (as usual). Best wishes!

Last year two days after doing that video the immigration police knocked on my door at 7.00 pm to check that I was living where I said that I was which was confusing to say the least. I just did my 2024 visa and it went without a hitch so maybe things are getting better. Cheers Ged

I read somewhere they might personally visit your residence to verify occupancy but I just dismissed it as scare talk from people who had simply heard "rumors" (like the current rumors about tax on money from abroad). It's their country and they can do whatever they want but as you said in your video, it's the inconsistency of rules and requirements between regional offices that frustrates me the most, and none of these are good for the old ticker at renewal times. @@anthonyc92107 Hi Anthony. Hua Hin is a great place to live and has the best weather in Thailand with not much of a wet season. Though not as tropical as down south it's in the centre of Thailand so it's easier to visit other areas. Though not in Hua Hin it's more up north and down south in Phuket. I've bought several of your books and August Magazine - all downloaded without problem. I bought your Sept Magazine and as it is a Flip file I am unable to convert it so that I can read/see it? I have sent you 5 emails over the past week and a bit requesting assistance - 3 emails have bounced back (even though I copied the address from your website) and the 2 that did make it through, I have not been replied to? Is there anyone that really answers your emails? Your book/magazine content is excellent - it is a pity that your customer service after one purchases your items, lets you down. I will not worry about your magazines any further and not purchase any more of your books - I will also tell all my friends about your below standard attitude and let them decide if they want to deal with you.
