1:50 I forgot to say, that the keyboard shortcut on chess dot com is x to flip the board to see it from the opponent's view. You can also toggle between focus and non-focus mode with the z key. These two keyboard shortcuts will improve both your gameplay and your calculations/ability to zoom out during games. I'll make a video on this soon! I got a color scheme way of looking at Lucena too, so stay tuned. 4:33 That's an example of a deflection/attraction that the computer engine saw. By black giving up the knight on f6, you deflect the white queen, thus allowing your own queen to take the pawn safely on g2. Because before the sacrifice the white queen was on the g file. So black exchanges a knight for two pawns and a rook queen battery directly lined up to attack an open king. 13:01 Notice the rook is also now threatening the hanging bishop. So again, very natural for humans to make that Re8 move 13:44 Lightsquared bishops are often a little awkward in the Sicilian opening. The Sicilian Kan makes it extra awkward because there's two pawn pieces blocking the mobility to the rim.

Trump definitely should have at some point..."built a wall." How you interpret that can vary. Either two Rooks as a battery, or rook/q/rook battery. Or, even a pawn wall , however you can set up a wall. Kamala should get some sort of pawn break, like, a major queenside wipe, and then has like....THREE passed pawns, (immigrants) heading for the border (promotion rank). and bad boy trump comes and sets up his Wall in front of the immigrants to keep them out. Whole time, Trump on the kingside has a passed pawn of his own, as he definiteyl needs to promote at least one pawn to a Queen, if not two promo queens, as he has multiple baby mamas. But maybe they cant be on the board at the same time, needs to trade/sacrifice a queen before promoting a next one, as he was ex wives, babymammas, etc. hmmm. i can think up more ridiculousness but lets see how ppl react to that first and how trigered they get. lol

I interesting. In that case, maybe a stonewall opening would be appropriate!
@SmokeytheGhostАй бұрын
Trump should’ve played the white pieces and Kamala black. You missed that
@JerryCricketGamingАй бұрын
Maybe i’ll simulate another one where trump has first mover advantage. Then i’ll have to change Kamala’s strategy in the middle because she was taking over from Biden. But then if i do that, it makes more sense for Biden/Harris to play white. We’ll see. Im studying Ruy Lopez right now so I might make a video on that.

Do you know if either one has played chess before? If neither of them played chess before I would imagine both would play random moves and the game would likely end in a draw as neither would be able to figure out how to deliver checkmate. If either or both of them play chess then I would need to know their playing style to answer.

I'm loving these beginner explains to beginner type of videos. I feel like some chess videos are just flurry of coordinates (yes, I should really learn them) or stuff like "I mean it's obvious to play like this..." This keeps it really simple and shows it too! Subbed

Thanks man! I'll have more to come! Right now in my journey, it looks like many beginner-centric videos actually hurt the progress. I recently realized I've been held back by that stupid motto "knight on the rim is dim." It turns out I miss so many tactical moves because I was taught in the beginning to avoid putting the knight on the rim. So much to learn, so much to relearn, and then so much to relearn again XDD A better motto should be "knight on the rim is sometimes dim."
@BabaSmithVideos2 ай бұрын
@@JerryCricketGaming I actually came to the same conclusion just a while back. It still "hurts" to play knight on the a or h files, but sometimes it is just necessary.

Another really bad advice I’ve heard is “trade queens when you’re up not when you’re down.” That is also too general and prevents a lot of good play. From my current understanding, if you’re attacking well, be careful trading queens even when you’re up. Because if you’re attacking and you lose your most powerful piece, your attack is severely weakened.

To expand on the point at 1:42, beyond the pawn at e6 protecting his f5 pawn, the rook at f8 and the bishop at c8 are also defenders of that pawn. So he actually really could have blocked the imminent mate with the f5 move. You see it because the computer gives no advantage to me anymore if he played that.

Hey Jerry, I'm not great at chess, but one thing that might appeal to your martial arts background, and you may not agree, but this is how I think in chess and fighting... rather than thinking of techniques, think targets. A good boxer is looking for spaces to attack. They might use deception or work an area to create a weakness. They might target the liver, and look for openings and patterns where it is exposed. The same can be done in chess. So before you get to the board try to recognise a handful of common targets such as the pawns at the back of a pawn structure/island where you can build up a combo of pieces to attack it. And when you have more in attack than they have guarding it, you strike. This will also cause your opponent to abandon their ideas to defend against your attack. Look for undefended pieces and areas where they don't communicate, and vacant squares you can control where it's difficult for you to be moved away, or their structure must be weakened to defend. You go to the board actively looking for these targets. In my experience, there are two key moments where all players blunder, even at up to 2,000 elo... moves 12 to 14, and 16 to 20. If you have time take extra care here, and be extra watchful for these targets. Players rarely recover from these blunders.
