Rewatching this I noticed that Rodriguez got a touch annulled cos Nick's reel was unplugged. I wonder what the rules are regarding the situation. Cos as Sam clearly pointed out it was too late to test the weapon cos he had tested it on his foot so in theory he shouldn't be allowed to test it but the reel getting unplugged is out of his control and probably happened before the halt. Interesting edge case, I would like to know what an fie ref says about it?

For clarification, I think the decision taken on the video was fair but the way they got to it is weird

Why is everybody switching to Prieur masks? Don't they separate at the bib/neck?

@ is there a rivet on the bottom, or is it still a friction fit?
If you use that body cord in a regional or national level event, you also need to check that the electrical resistance of each wire be no more than 1 ohm. Otherwise, a great video.
@layer8struggles340Ай бұрын
Very true! Had a (somehow faulty from factory) pin recently that itself had 4 Ohms (!) . Add to that the resistance of the epee and while the little tester will still show no issue, the score board on the strip will be much more picky…

Hello, can you give more informations on vivian kong gameplan, strength, style etc ? You can take the videos posted on your channel as a reference. For example, what type of grip does she use and why, can you explain how she use her lunge ? By the way i have a lot of questions on epee fencing in general so if you have a discord server or something it would be cool to discuss. Thx 👍

This takes some mad confidence, to still trust the same attack throughout the whole bout even if you were down.

Why did they give Poland the last point?!!!!!! Didn’t they got physical touch first then the red light went on?!

Bardenet's front foot lands crooked when he does not want to go forward but it lands straight when he does want to go forward, Imrek is reading this.

I’m fairly new to fencing and I would like to state what I learned so that extra points could be added or maybe past points adjusted: I learned that Kano was really aware of the distances and the um like habits his opponent would do allowing him to punish accordingly but also at the beginning his blade was a lot more wild, using “fluff” for the purpose of confusion. The moment at 8:14 was really cool but I was wondering why the opponent was allowed to push up so much every round? Is this because he’s a taller fencer and has farther reach than Kano? It was also quite interesting to see how the other fencer would use that pressure to ready a hit because Kano would have to freak out and push out when he hit a certain distance close to the end of the piste. Anyways are the key things to note how they both judged distances very well in order to ready from or initiate an attack, while also maintaining really good footwork so you can take the steps back when forced? Are the things to look for the tip dropping in a habitual manner to allow you to attack and to be able to see that your at a distance where you just close enough to start attacking but not be hittable? Do I start using the first rounds to learn how the correct distances feel against a fencer I am unfimiliar with as they did for the first 5 or so rounds? I do not know 😅. Thanks for the analysis! (I use pistol and am not tall so I would like to know what the general approach to taller French grip users are as well!)

What do you think works so well about Cannone’s ducking? I want to try to implement that more into my fencing but I feel like I get called out for it more often than not.

It's very unpredictable because he mixes it well with either ducking to the hand or body, very hard to read

I'm an amateur épée fencer from Hungary, and I've been fencing for almost three years now. About a year ago, I switched to a French grip, and I absolutely love it. I was curious-why do high-level French grip fencers keep their index finger extended on the grip? What are the advantages of this? Also, why do some fencers bend the grip downward?

@@GPFencing I am extremely disappointed. The shoes are garbage. There is no space for the toes and they are incredibly narrow with painful arch support. Utter waste of money! While the cushioning and protection do make a difference in the knees, the arch pain and pinky rubbing is unbearable. Sizing up would have just made them longer.

I think your question about the use of the unarmed hand early in the bout is an artifact of the slow mo replay. When the distance collapsed, Tsinis' blade contacted Imrek arm as a result of the close contact, rather than an attempt by Imrek to move the blade. No card, in my opinion.
