I just found your story and it is very interesting and very emotional all I can think about is how much I would love for us to be friends and we would be very grateful to have each other’s support and comfort for each other as this is said I would be happy to be there for you and support you and help you through this difficult time in your life and you have had so many falls getting hurt and sometimes it was really bad I would have taken care of you and comfort you body

I’m the kind of person that would love to help you out and I would love for us to be best friends and be close to each other and I would love to be able to be there for you especially when you have a bad fall or just want to get a little help and be able to relax and rest I know that I would really support you and I would probably be spoiling you and my kindness and friendship I just want you to feel comfortable and safe with a compassionate person that you can trust and know that he was always there for you and that you were not being pressured in to anything thing that was making you feel uncomfortable just a great person you met in life

Have you investigated Oseointegration - the titanium bone implant to get rid of all the socket problems. There are many videos on KZbin about this advanced technology. Those amputees who have gone with this say it is definitely worth it Dr David Whitaker Ph.D P.N.L.P

Mine was in August of 2009. I was very optimistic in the beginning. I wish I still was. Year 1 was getting set up with a prosthesis. The second year was pretty good! From year 3 on? Not so much. Everybody's experience is different. I hope yours keeps on improving!

Thank you. I have been getting better at it. My first year as an amputee was better than my second year. I am still recovering from breaking my good leg. Of all things!!! It is finally hurting less and starting to feel a bit more reliable but I have 5 more months to go before my good leg if fully healed. I am pretty hard on it because I have to work. So I get up and go to the office every day. Lots of stairs at work and at home. By the weekend I am definitely ready to rest. Excited to hopefully have a better summer this year and get back to some normal activities. Build up strength and walking (we call them hikes lol) distance. Right now I don't put in 1000 steps lol in a day. I will get back to it tho. Let it heal, let it heal... My surgeon has a note up for me that says "No more falls". Have a great day.

@@amputeeandrea4058 and then also all the snow, I wish you good healing of your leg and no falls, because I can imagine how badly you were and still are affected by the injury to your good leg, I find 1000 steps a day very good, We are looking forward to spring soon, best regards and have a wonderful day!

Thank you for making this video. I was wondering if putting on a pair of pantyhose over your leg and residual limb first, then applying the stump socks still having the nylon over the prosthesis would help? I apologize in advance if this does not sound right. Have a wonderful day 😊!
@amputeeandrea4058
@amputeeandrea4058 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the idea. Right now the nylons are because we had to rip apart my definitive leg. The final coating was a skin tone silicone coating that was very expensive. It also was too heavy for my residual limb causing constant muscle spasms and ultimately led to a fall and fracturing my good leg and hurt my residual limb. The coating was lovely in that it shaped my leg and smoothed out the bumps. When they removed the silocone coating that took away 1 1/4 lbs and we were back to my light weigh fiber glass prosthesis. However they left the foam shaping. Currently we are waiting for a product to spray paint over the white foam and fibre glass and protect the foam from breaking apart. Wearing double nylons are to hide the different colours of the now unfinished prosthetic leg. I also wear a gel liner inside my prosthetic leg and that requires bare skin. Rashes etc and very stinky at end of day (TMI) I will often wear footless stockings not leggings or leggings for dresses with thin socks in winter. I will post when we refinish the leg. Thanks for your input!

Sitting for extended periods of time drives my amputated leg crazy. Sometimes I'll release the pin lock, without removing the prosthesis entirely, just to get some extra space.

How much did your leg cost? I need one for my right leg. Also, how much is a walker?
@amputeeandrea4058
@amputeeandrea4058 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Katrina, I watched your video and my heart goes out to you. I wish you the best. I am not sure where you are. I am in Canada. I did not have to pay for my walker or my leg. We have a different health care system. I don't have insurance from an employer and I did not get insurance compensation from my accident. We have universal healthcare. I did find when I wanted a second walker I was able to borrow one from an organization. All the best Andrea

I have half of both feet off, and have asked my surgeon if she will remove my feet completely. She said she would. I know it sounds bizarre, but the thought of them being amputated is exciting to me. Your stump is magnificently PERFECT!
