You certainly can! I would suggest using a soap making calculator which you can typically find online. If you make adjustments to the ratio of oils being used then you will likely have to adjust your lye ratio.

So did you notice a huge difference in how much wood you needed to burn to get warm after you got the Cobb walls up? Thank you for sharing your journey in these videos! It’s discouraging to only see these kinds of builds in hot climates…
@CampcorderOffGrid
@CampcorderOffGrid 7 ай бұрын
The Cobb walls were an incredible heat sink and we definitely needed less wood. Trouble is we used a wood fired kitchen stove for heat so it really got it to hot in the small square footage. Would recommend a wood stove designed to a smaller space like ours.!

Hi , I'm new to soap making and watch this video a few times the recipe is asking for 4.91 of lye, but when you're measuring it the scale is showing 4.9 and you says 4.9 as well, I love the looks of the soap can you please get back to me with the correct number thank.
@CampcorderOffGrid
@CampcorderOffGrid Жыл бұрын
Technically the recipe is 4.91 but the scale that I was using doesn’t read out that accurate, so if you make it with your scale reading 4.9 you shouldn’t have any problems at all!:)

Plz change recipe to show percentages instead of weights so it can be sized for any mold. Thank you! I would recommend using much less water. You'll get a better soap if you use not more than twice the water to lye (2:1 water to lye)

Hello! So I followed this recipe almost to a T since i ran out of coconut oil. Only had 4 oz instead of the 10. So with that said, i added mofe oils here and there to compensate. Will the soap still be okay? Currently they're in the fridge and wkll stay there for 24 hrs

Hopefully the soap will turn out ok, however you will have to wait until the 2 weeks to really know. There is an easy way to make adjustments to a soap recipe by using a lye calculator! It’s a pretty cool tool and easy way to create your own recipes/make adjustments to an existing one! Recommend you check it out if you make soap again:) Best of luck.

I would say if it irritates your skin then it was a flop. When you make any changes to the percent of oils you use then you have to make changes to the amount of lye that you use. However, your changes may have been small enough for it to not have played a major effect on your batch.

There definitely is a variety of different oils which you can use for making cold processed goats milk soap! All comes down to what kind of oils your skin does well with and the quality of soap which you desire! Look for a recipe specifically for the oils which you are wanting to use:) Best of luck!
