This side of the island is very green compared to the south / southwest where most of the green is because of irrigation

Thank you for taking the time to comment. My wife and I have traveled to Blumenau several times and have enjoyed it every time. For us it is about the perfect size, not big enough to be intimidating but big enough to have everything you would want in a city. Would recommend visiting Blumenau to anyone.

I bet Blumenau 1950/1990s was same used as headquarters/power centre for South America like Langley CIA is/was for the CIA.....

Blumenau: Sidewalks streets... same material, size, bricks....pavement as in Germany.. 1960/70s era.. production.... To fix Germany after ww2 and redesign... with new materials... shapes, forms... for street infrastructure/furniture... I bet a lot/huge production was there back then in these factories in Germany... plus surplus production... And I guess a lot of barges, seaships with enormous capacity... brought those street tiles/bricks over... The lay out of the used the materials is all the same like in German streets...

Blumenau was settled by mostly German immigrants and that influence can be seen everywhere. It is actually home to the worlds second largest Octoberfest celebration.
