I know it's been years since you made this vid, but this did the trick! I didn't even take it apart. I just gave it a good whack and it started working again XD I'll see if it stays like his, but you're definitely spot on. Thanks for making the vid!

Can confirm this method still works as of October 25th 2024. I always had trouble getting the headset to charge ever since I got them a couple years ago. I would just mess with them on the base station or update them again, and eventually they would work. with the release of black ops 6 Ive been using the astro a50s a lot and they started having charging issues again. After all day of searching I came across this video and now I can finally get back to zombies appreciate it!

9/15/24 Took the ear cup off and by that time I plugged directly into a Micro USB, and it was orange. Seemed that all I had to do was take it apart and put it back together and it started charging.

Wowwwwww I take back my last comment. Things are fixed! Spent 20 minutes on the phone with them to tell me I was shit out of lock because they were just out of warranty and they said I was at our loss and basically needed to buy new ones so happy I got them working thank you so much for the video. Will never ever purchase another Astro product again.

Awesome video! It really solved my issues with this headset. I believe it’s a great headset, but it’s unfortunate that a design flaw caused it to fail. It’s a pity, but I appreciate you taking the time to help people resolve this problem. Your video is better than any Astro forum, congrats!

2 years later u saved me! its 14/08/2024. I was pissed off by this problem. i just found this video and i did the same thing. opened the right ear and i just moved a little bit the fucking connector. VOILA', now my headphones charge at any time, always. Thank u so much, u are a genius my man.

My a50 gen3s have this same issue except it does not have a connector like this. Thought I hit the jackpot finding this video. Been a paper weight for 8 months so far.

7/29/24 and this fixed it. I looked everywhere and this is the ONLY thing I found that was actually helpful. I opened it up and rearragend the cables. Took less than 5 min and I'm already charging up. Thank you!

Copying the comment below. July 2024 this fucking works! Take the magnetic ear piece off, peal the pad back. I didn't even need to under the screws, I just got a small flathead screwdriver and pushed the connector in more. INSTANTLY turned orange. Thanks man! Saved me a good bit of money :)

If you want to solve this problem for good, cut the socket off and solder the wires together. Otherwise the same problem recurs after a while.

Not so much as loose but inside the connector some pins move, so you just need to connect them correctly and it’s done

2 years later and this video saved me. I can’t thank you enough! I had the exact same problem u described and had surged the internet trying to figure out what to do and nothing helped me until I found this video and it worked perfectly. I didn’t even have to unscrew the part off the headset I jus took the foam pad off and have the thing u showed a little poke and it’s back to working perfect. THANK YOU!

yu need to take out a pad that is like glued to the actual headphones, you take it out, you can later place it again, and youll see 4 screw holes, you unscrew them and thats it!

I bought mine LAST NIGHT. full battery bars but I have never seen an orange light. Only works when I keep the headset plugged into a portable charger. Uggghhhhh

could probably be this your issue, try restarting them press de adoby button and game button at the same time until it makes a bop bop sound, and the headphones will restart, if this does not solve your problem try what i did on the video, you dont even need to open them at all yust use a toothpick to touch that connector and you should be able to charge them and use them wireless, you can also restart the base station, underneath there is a super small hole where you can clik it for like 5-6 seconds to restart your base station, the hole is small so maybe use a needle or a earring

When you know where this thingy is you dont need to reopen the headset. Just dingle dangle with a screwdriver and it goes orange :D

Dude ive searched high and low for answers to this problem. And i can confirm in 2024 that this method is the only thing that works. When i opened mine the connector had completely fallen out of its holder and was just dangling around. Pushed it back in and squeezed it together with mini channellocks and now my headset charges fine.
