I would say Qrow but he’s already been screwed over.

When it comes to Ironwood I don’t necessarily have a problem with him spiraling into complete insanity after everything that happened: everyone crapping on him in volume 7, the fact they comment on the fact he looks tired along with his beard shows he’s most likely hasn’t gotten much sleep (and even if he did it most likely wasn’t good), having to deal with Robyn and her cronies, learning about Robyn knowing about Amity during a high stress situation, learning that Salem can’t be killed during the Grimm invasion, sleeving his arm to stop Watts, the chess piece in his office, Salem appearing and basically saying “I’m on my way”, Yang defending her and the cat’s stupid decision of telling Robyn about the Amity Project, Yang complaining about his plan which he used to lure out Watts (which worked). So yeah after all of that it’s not a surprise he went crazy, my problem is that none of the characters react or care that he does, Qrow spends all of volume 8 being angsty about a guy he knew for (at the very most) a few weeks and wanting to gut James like a fish, only to be talked out of if by Robyn of all people. Ruby and the help flounder around trying to save everyone. Also the big thing that’s meant to show he’s super mega evil now (aside from shooting Oscar which felt like the start of them having to double down on it) is his plan of raising Atlas which would leave the people of Mantle to (supposedly) die. But even after all that they still could’ve salvaged his character if they had him go out like any of Noble Squad from Halo Reach, Grifter from Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox or even just have Qrow go through with his plan of killing but have it legitimately be seen as a sad moment/and or mercy killing. But he doesn’t even get that, right up until he dies he’s still being shat on.

to be fair, you could probably ask similar questions about nearly every character and writing decision in the entire series, and the answer probably just boils down to the simple fact that none of the writers seem to be on the same page, and everything sucks.

@@definite_dude Hell they could’ve had him go out like any of Noble Squad from Halo Reach (Noble Six, Emile, or Jorge specifically), self sacrifice all in the name of keeping people safe, or hell even Grifter from “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox” where he dies in a last stand but still manages to go out like a badass. But instead he just goes out like a little bitch.
