If interest rates go down again, people will buy again. However it may kill the supply and then demand will go back up and so will prices. American auto workers also want too much $$$ per hour which also leads to price increases
@leolee678613 күн бұрын
People being paid a living wage isn’t causing these insane prices and if anything steel import tariffs would have a bigger effect on price. Blame the endless safety regulations and hybrid mandates and Drunk Driving recognition SPYWARE. Plus that doesn’t even include major auto companies locking features BUILT INTO THE CAR behind electronic paywalls like BMW with heated steering wheels. America could have the cheapest, and most reliable cars in history but the government-corporate landscape makes that impossible
@RONderluck13 күн бұрын
@ hi conspiracy theorist how are you? Let me explain something to you.. so back in 2020 when Trump handed out the stimulus check, stupid people decided to use that money for down payment on cars or houses or they just bought stupid electronics. Thus, killing the supply and creating a demand or shortage however, you wanna look at it and then the prices went insane. When it comes to food prices, after lockdown, nobody wanted to work, so businesses started offering people higher wages, along with sign on bonuses thus driving the cost of everything else, including food.. my daughter got her first job at target making $26 an hour. My neighbor son works at Burger King and he makes $24 an hour and that was his first job and this is in Ohio.
@654Crossman13 күн бұрын
American auto workers bust their asses every day. They were essential workers, during the "deadliest pandemic since the Spanish flu." They deserve a decent wage. You act like they should make the same as fast food workers, while breaking their bodies. Maybe you should entertain the idea of trying your hand at the industry.

It's a joke. Taxpayers will have their pockets picketed either way. Auto makers will either get their price for vehicles, else Federal bailouts and loans at taxpayer expense.
@jonathantaylor692613 күн бұрын
Hopefully Trump won't play that game.. if .gov is going to hand out billions to help the automakers it should be in the form of a tax credit for consumers. Either way the automaker gets the money, might as well help normal people while they are at it.

Great report. I dont think the makers will reduce prices; they will reduce volume. Even Ford has said they dont want to be the largest volume seller, the want to be the most profitable.... The Korean (crappy) brands do well w/ volume. Hyndai, Kia, and their equally crappy luxury brands will continue to expand in volume.... and in the volume in repair shops.

I asked a few dealers why and they said the demand is much higher than the supply of Corollas. The dealer near me gave me an out the door price quote of $28,000 for a new gasoline 2025 Corolla LE sedan and he said that's his best and final price.
