I’ll just go ahead and add this in here since I haven’t seen it yet, but a-kon was originally the feat, but couldn’t get his vocals cleared for his verse so he asked his friend at the time Colby to do it. He sang the song what you got around the same time so he was relevant then, but didn’t really blow up past that. They did keep Akon’s backing vocals though without credit. So that’s why you hear his backing vocals even in Colby’s version.

If people are confused why they heard akon at first it’s because this version was sent to radio stations and it was played but quickly scrapped and adding the other guy insteas

This is the version I remember as a kid when it came out on the radio and then one day it just changed to something that sounded like it was imitating Akon. Everyone tried to convince me Alon was never singing a verse. I knew I wasn’t crazy😂

Is she literally this upset that Ataru never talks to her? I mean she's a hot alien space princess, just pick one of the 10,000 guys lined up around the block that want to date you, if this idiot is too self absorbed ask you out. Or I guess maybe that's the point, like under the cheerful exterior she's like consumed by this unrequited love that she can never get over... Not on the version on the album. This was the original version sent to radio stations. Akon was barred by his record label to feature on this song, even though he signed Gaga. He had Colby O'Donis record his verse his for the album. Akon's backing vocals are still on the other version
