Through mains interface units for the panel. They wire onto the loop. When the alarm is activated it switches the relay to create a circuit and turn the lights off and onto battery mode.

You could replace the control panel with a smart one and also have a back up battery panel hidden away.

The system was replaced a few years ago with some texecom thing i fitted. It's been alright apart from that it does what this one done and it's got the smart system abilities like app control and alerting me through my phone with faults and alarms.

@@ASSystems i was watching a video on a texecom alarm today.. a guy has a hard wired texecom alarm the pir sensors key pad etc and he has added to the system wireless window shock sensors. to a wired system. Those old vigs are very similar to the later 34000 panels

They basically are the 34000 just rebranded as vigilon. although the 34000 was a BS only panel, had a 12 loop version which looked different and was massive and also didn't have a EN variant that the vigilon branding introduced but both EN & BS variants we're still avaiable.

Gent is quite common in large buildings in Wales because I believe it’s the only protocol that can have Welsh voice without having a full blown PAVA system.

No longer have this fitted but it was a device that had the message stored with a mini built in amp. When power was applied the device would sound.
