Damn that slip control, you're getting so much rotation out of the Kart early corner but staying stable. It's really impressive

I feel like your videos are mostly about big, out-door tracks. I feel techniques are a bit different with Inside narrow tracks with constant turns. For example I belive best way to take corners in my area is with stepping into the breaks hard while giving it a tiny little bit of stearing so that the back of the cart tips out just enough to point the front to where I want to go. So with just a bit of slide in each corner is the fastest way in my area. Although it's difficult to do it consistently. So I use the breaks to turn and try to get away with minimal stearing. This is definetly the fastest way for me. If I was going much faster and had a ton of room, I I imagine it would be bad to slide the cart even so slightly

Are we talking about rental karting or proper karting? I learned that you need to let the rear tyres bite into a turn

does this apply aswell to karts with front brake discs, in my scenario a Birel Art DD2

you analogy about lean, does not translate to skiing. it looks like we stay upright but we actually try to lean out to outside ski grip.... With that said I am not sure leaning out would be an advantage in karting

Sometimes just showing up is a mistake 😂😂 ! Two weeks ago was just ugly . Then last week back on podium ! 1st time I ever spun someone in 16 years and gave them the spot back ! His friend decided to get payback in final . He lost his podium spot for blocking me !! I actually learned my greatest lesson from James Hinchcliffe and he had just finished racing A1GP !! Patience !! For a washed up never was was a pretty decent kart racer !

Great footage and explanation! I'm able to now take corners with minimal steering input, primarily relying on the brake and throttle to control the rotation.

So does that mean when im defending for 12th place, that makes me a dirty driver? How I would defend for my position is taking the middle racing line so the person behind can either risk taking the inside or just stay on the regular line (edit: We were fighting for 12th around the end of the race so like 4-6 laps left I think)

You definitely have to appreciate the focus it needs to achieve this. The moments only a driver can understand, each sweet spot and how to attack it.

Thank goodness for that soft barrier! How often do you see that barrier at tracks? I wish every kart track would have that!

To high a CG will kill tires fast, karts all over the track shimming the front tires from the centre of corner to exit These Euro kart guys love the high CG, I only seen few fast Euro karts and the seats are mounted just like the American karts that where fast, seat bottom mounted so that it will scrub the first couple laps on track, I never burned threw a seat but a few did that did it wrong lol Seat was kicked up where your legs exit and the top of the seat laid back as far as allowed which was 14 in. this was done to lower the CG as far as possible within the rules. You go check out 1978 World Champion Lake Speed kart from the late 70’s Lake Speed is smaller man so he didn’t need to lower his seat as extreme but the top of his helmet was 1 foot or more lower than most of the drivers. Lake Speed is still racing Vintage dual engine sprint karts and winning that make 100hp at 300 pounds the man is in his mid 70’s
