I’m 41 years old though a rather sporty guy. I’ve trained quite a lot in a Rotax Max but the majority of my experience is from a variety of Rental go-kart races. Today was my first time Rotax Max local race in my life! And I took a 1st place in Masters. I want to say thank you Ryan for sharing your experience with all of us! If you still haven’t realized - your support “gives wings” to many of us! In many countries guys like me follow your recommendations and improve! You have a big future!

@@MrOsetian 1st place not bad at all !! You're still a kid 😁🏁 4 podiums in 5 races this year and I'm 55 ! Ran Briggs for a few years and found out a better track marshal and rental racer 😂🤣. Did try a Rotax once it was fun ! Track a bit bumpy back then but repaved a few years ago ! Enjoy the rest of your season ! We running out of time in Canada !

I think the thing that slowed me down the most was over pushing. I race 4 stroke so that means there is not a lot of speed to work with so I just went full throttle everywhere. That actually is not the fastest way and the way to fix it is just slow down and rethink everything! “Slow in, Fast out!”

Yeah i think that is something that a lot of us struggle with.

I feel like your videos are mostly about big, out-door tracks. I feel techniques are a bit different with Inside narrow tracks with constant turns. For example I belive best way to take corners in my area is with stepping into the breaks hard while giving it a tiny little bit of stearing so that the back of the cart tips out just enough to point the front to where I want to go. So with just a bit of slide in each corner is the fastest way in my area. Although it's difficult to do it consistently. So I use the breaks to turn and try to get away with minimal stearing. This is definetly the fastest way for me. If I was going much faster and had a ton of room, I I imagine it would be bad to slide the cart even so slightly

I went to indoor Karting for the first time, having any idea about how really works. But it was really fun! Next time, I will try to apply this tip. 😊

After racing a KT100 with a L&T wet clutch It took about three months to feel slow in the kart. After things started to slow down I just felt the kart moving side to side, I just drove with my hips. Things slowed down,but my times got shorter. I miss my kart and wish I had another….

I want to know which is faster in an indoor karting track letting go of the accelerator and brake half a second later and flick the wheel kicking the back end out to go around a corner or let go of the acceleration and lower ur speed and turn then break at the apex using trail braking for a faster exit speed
@Zach_Attak-F19 ай бұрын
Just to let u know In the first step I accelerate right after I turn the car which step is faster

Talking about the first mistake i always try to be "in control" of the go kart and don't feel fast but if i don't keep an aggressive mindset through the whole session i feel like i'm braking too early alnost everywhere and i lose time. At the end of the session i'm exhausted and it's clearly not a good thing. Any advice?

«Racing shouldnt feel fast» this is why I think rally is more for me😅 Rally seems absolutely wild and I bet they think it feels fast

Hey Ryan i just got into regional races like route 66 sprint series and i really struggle to clear my head before races and especially qualifying. Do you think you could make a video/talk about how to clear your head before qualifying so that it doesnt affect your performance on track?

I like to do a lot of visualization to help calm down. That always seems to help me focus on driving and not the competition

Try the "neuroVIZR" session "let it go" i did race my best times after as I totally stopped the thinking process before. If the device is too expensive i recommend to watch youtube videos before the race. But dont watch something about go kart. Maybe some football or documentary about animals. It helps your brain!

Ryan I have a question here in Panama we use mg yellows for junior x30 is it ok to slide a little bit on entry because I know in mg reds you can’t slide into the corner because I feel slow going into the corner
@NorbergNation9 ай бұрын
I would try not to slide on the entry into the corner. It doesnt help with the rotation

Sometimes just showing up is a mistake 😂😂 ! Two weeks ago was just ugly . Then last week back on podium ! 1st time I ever spun someone in 16 years and gave them the spot back ! His friend decided to get payback in final . He lost his podium spot for blocking me !! I actually learned my greatest lesson from James Hinchcliffe and he had just finished racing A1GP !! Patience !! For a washed up never was was a pretty decent kart racer !

Does it help to slide a dd2 at the entry of corner?
@sixtenallingersandgren66747 ай бұрын
Sliding almost always slows you down. You want the kart to pick up the inside rear on corner entry and sliding prevents that

Turning early is better then over setting up the exists just make sure you push your brakings

The track I race at now I take turn 1 at a really bad angle . 😂🤣 . By turn 3 can make up about 2 kart lengths ! So far my luck has not run out and a no go line for rain races 😁🏁
