I have it on good authority that those early morning training sessions, and those long drives across the great State of North Carolina to and fro weekend NCTS races, are cherished by Mason’s dad to this day.

What a amazing woman. She id determined. Best interview so far. Endurance training an strength goes together. Whats the sense of being super strong an no Endurance. In a fight Endurance rules. I run marathons every year and it helps my strength naturally, i just space it out( every 3 weeks i run) .

On the farmers turn, you have the right idea. Turn the handles opposite of the direction you’re turning, pin your lats super tight, take short choppy steps. I’ve trained for the turn tons of times, but at the show they usually just allow the drop and repick. Be prepared, but there is a chance you do not have to do it.

Gaining 80+ lbs in 8 months is a feat in itself. What a beast
@storiedstrength4 ай бұрын
That’s 2.5 pounds a week, which is like a 1250 calorie daily surplus
@CodyHill-xb3lm4 ай бұрын
@@storiedstrength true but gaining is never linear, lotta bumps & hurdles. 80lb+ over baseline is a lot. Plus what he ate to get from 180lb to 200lb is different than what he ate to get from 240lb to 260lb.... Atleast with myself I find the calories I have to eat to gain weight above 225-228lbs is a lot more than the "suggested caloric intake"... I find that I plateau in terms of bodyweight, and have to intake some extreme calories to break said plateau (i.e. 7200-7500 cal per day for 7-10 days) and that it's like a full time job to be more than 20-25lb above my baseline... However certain "supplements" make this task easier.... Anyways, Doug Young was an incredible athlete and a legit bulk lord. Love the channel & content, keep up the bios on the great lifters of yester-year, so interesting
@storiedstrength4 ай бұрын
@@CodyHill-xb3lm dude of course. I wasn’t trying to claim that he ate linearly, just pointing out the quantity of the surplus by averaging it out
