This is perfection!!! Performed amazingly and articulately and picturesque!! Supertramp were high standard quality music. Their compositions are pretty much all treasures. Crime is such a fantastic parade of wonder and mystery, melancholy and noir!! It’s got classic stamped right on the cover! Brilliant chemistry they are!!

!00% True story folks... Went to see them at the Gorge in Washington in 97. Worst concert by a landslide I ever went to. Roger Hodgsen was no longer in the band, only one song that he sang was played and they did it instrumentally for obvious reasons. Another song played came to his part they just omitted the vocals. I believe it was Rudy...No mention of him not being there, concert was about an hour and 20 minutes with a 20 minute break in between, they played a bunch of songs nobody knew, at the end, all they said was "thanks goodnight" and walked off stage and never came back. No encore no hey thanks for supporting us all these years just pretty much a middle finger to the crowd. Almost 400 bucks between two tickets, a lot of gas and outrageous prices House of Blues wanted for literally everything. So here's the middle finger right back at you Supertramp. Right in your face. Yes I'm still pissed about it everytime I hear your name.

An instrumental section of "Fool's Overture" was used as theme music for more than a decade for W5, an investigative journalism program on Canada's CTV network. Towards the end of that run the segment of the original album version was replaced by a cover version. Supertramp was huge in Canada, which was their most successful market. Crime of the Century and Breakfast in America were both certified Diamond for sales of 1 million albums each. "The Logical Song" and a live version of "Dreamer" were both number one hits, and "Dreamer" seems to turn up in a TV commercial every few years.

Supertramp did release 2 more albums without Roger Hodgson: "Brother Where You Bound" in 1985 and "Free As A Bird" in 1987, before splitting up. It wasn't until the mid 1990s that keyboard player Rick Davies, the group's only constant member, reformed them and they recorded an additional 2 albums. Hodgson had planned to be in the group for a 40th anniversary tour in 2010, but Davies himself claimed that while they were in the same band for nearly 15 years, they never stayed in touch after Hodgson quit and didn't intend to in the first place.
