0:00 Everyone is Listening 3:30 I Can See 5:40 Pony Express 8:25 School Here we can listen to early versions of "If Everyone was Listening" and "School", both officially released in the "Crime of the Century" album in 1974. "If Everyone..." stands out for completely rewritten lyrics, but "School" was enormously upgraded in the keyboard solo section. Just wondering if Roger himself reworked the solo, or if it was Rick's collaboration.
@progmeup3 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the piano solo of "School" was Rick's contribution. Roger acknowledges this by saying that this is one of the few tracks they actually have written together.

Davies wrote the piano solo Same as in case of Child of vision.

Flute sound really suited their ballads. Surely, Helliwell saxophone contributed to their mainstream rock success and to powerful sound of classic line-up, but now I miss that flute ).

Interesting & a rare opportunity to hear them putting the building blocks together. I'd love to hear a clean & polished version of "I can see". I wonder if there's a clean demo somewhere? I can imagine there are many good outtakes from the seventies. Thanks for the upload!

1972 was the year they started Crime of the Century which took them two years to produce. Some of these songs were probably still considered bits too broken to add to the Indelibly Stamped album.

Which Supertramp lineup was it performing here? The Indelibly Stamped one, with Dave Winthrop, Frank Farrell, and Kevin Currie? I'm curious who's singing the harmony part with Roger at 1:22. I'd assume it's Rick, but it doesn't really sound like his voice there.

I would say it must be Rick as the backings sound just like the recorded version of 1974. Unless Roger doubled on himself.
@georg28710 ай бұрын
@Thetarantinomaniac Yes, it was that line-up. I asked in my group and there were 2 answers: "Singing backup was probably Frank Farrell. I hear flute so that was Dave Winthrop." and another vote says it is Rick.

Pony Express is Rick. The other 3 songs are from Roger and he´s also singing his songs.
